Silicoro™ Technology
There is only one factory in Arezzo, Italy that is able to make these special silicone products. To create the bracelet's primary form, jewelry craftsmen pair a hypoallergenic thermosilicone tube with a delicate 14K gold wire. Gold-tone silicone strands are then woven around the tube to form the look of a solid, smooth omega. The piece is finished with a solid 14K gold barrel. This special technology gives you the benefit of a lightweight style that resists abrasions and dents

What do you all think?

It sounds like you are not getting much gold to me.

I'm sure its not much gold but I like look of the items. If the multistrand bracelet was smaller, I would consider purchasing. This would be a purchase for the look, not as an investment. Sometimes you just have to purchase because you like a piece.

With today's gold prices- at least it gives someone the LOOK of gold for an affordable price. I look at my pieces and TG that I got in on the cheap gold prices 10 years ago.

QVC sells silicone filled gold. It's a new technology like artform was years ago. No one thinks artform is cheap or a rip off, right? I would rather have something filled than hollow. It also adds flexibility, thereby adding longevity to your pieces because they stay in better shape.

Silicone is a JUNK that can't be repaired or sold as a scrap. ARTFORM (Electroform) is a normal solid gold that is hollow inside. You can do anything with it. I have artform pieces that are very very heavy.

The omega sounds familiar. Didn't QVC create a omega made out of gold tone thread? You can get a gold tone omega for far less than shops is selling this gold tone woven with 14K barrel at the clasp end.

Your artform stuff must be pretty large because the concept of it is to cut down on the weight of a piece.

Just because something cannot be repaired does not mean it is junk. If you bought something and were unaware that it was filled with silicone, that's reason to be upset but to understand that the price is lower due to less gold being used is the buyer's choice.

Stefano's items are pretty - solid or filled.

Yes they are. The earrings weigh 15.5 grams and they would be unwearable if they would not be hollow .

To each hers own. I would not buy gold plated silicone for 5 backs...

I tried the allegro bangles last year but returned them because I didn't think they were that attractive on, also found them a bit scratchy on bare arms. However, today I ordered two of the yellow gold braided bangle. I like the style, they are a bit more substantial than the allegro, and the price with 6 value pays is pretty darn good. I'll post a review here when they arrive. With gold being so dear now, I'm looking for substantial looks for good prices.

Thanks! I would love to hear a review. I'm still tempted but I don't think it will stay on my wrist/hand.

How do Stefano's pieces hold up to wear? I would consider them for pieces I would wear infrequently. I do have one silicone filled ring that is very pretty and which I wear with just a few outfits that it looks great with. Have had no problems with it.

That is some heavy pair of earrings!

What was the name of the lady that had artform on Shop NBC way back when it was Value Vision? She was always on with Wes and Pam.

I still think the silicone is an OK concept, as long as you realize what you are buying. Same goes for Veronese. No one should think it's made out of iron.

I think it's a fancy way of saying they dumbed down his gold jewelry. I don't like it.

Peace

I had purchased a bracelet last year and returned it. For $99 it was a golden band....much like I used to put my hair in a pony tail. I couldn't see paying that kind of money for it. Like the braided looks though, just wish they were cheaper.

If you're just buying for "the look," then why not buy costume jewelry for a few bucks?

It is no longer called italian gold with Stefano, it is italian designs with Stefano. The description doesn't even mention gold because there is hardly any gold in it. You probably get more gold weight in gold plated jewelry.

Exactly. Why to pay hundreds of dollars for silicone?

I have several pair of the hoop earrings and I really like them--big size, big look, but not too heavy.

The bracelets arrived, I opened them, tried them on and put them right back in the packages! Complete junk, in my opinion! Scratchy, just like the first ones I tried, and the solid gold piece that joins the ends of the braids together doesn't even have rolled edges, so they're sharp edges, very uncomfortable. The braided part on both was skewed so that they did not lay flat against my arm, either. Altogether, pretty terrible. I can't imagine why people are buying and keeping this stuff, which must be happening or they wouldn't continue selling them. In my opinion, Stephano is a real piece of work. I will never buy anything from him again. Last edited on 7/24/2011

he used to see fine pieces at shop nbc, with the problems with the economy, they have all cheapend their jewelery, i would rather pay a higher price and get the real thing. i do not know why they just will not make the pieces smaller in real gold. i would never buy the silcone junk.

I got the 20" white Silicoro graduated omega not too long ago when it went way on special. They are quite upfront about the fact that the necklace itself is gold-tone silicone, not gold. Only the end caps/clasps are 14k. I got it because I thought it looked spectacular on the models, I like big bold jewelry, and I thought it would look cool with my Jay King pendants, which I hoped had large enough bails to fit over it. I was not disappointed - it is a spectacular piece of fashion jewelry; the Jay King pendants fit over it perfectly; and the 14k clasps/caps are a nice bonus. I always get tons of compliments on it because it is so stunning. For the price I would never expect this thing to be all gold, and who would?
