I'm out of the loop. What's the big deal about Michele watches?

Is the quality wonderful? Or are they just the latest trend?

They're nice quality but so is a Seiko if you are only about being able to tell the time (and this is coming from a serious watch snob{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}). They are beautifully designed, mid-priced, and many like them. I don't have one but we got the diamond deco for my mom a couple of years ago for her birthday and she loves it. Still looks and works great. Enjoy if you decide to get one.

Michele watches are just wonderful, imo. I have had a Coquette diamond Michele for 6 years now (a Christmas gift from dh) and I wear it all the time--I have at least a dozen bands I change out from time to time. They are sold in high end stores and deserve that placement. They are both stylish and of good quality. I get compliments all the time on it.

Neiman Marcus is having a GREAT sale on a limited number of Michele watches--I just ordered a white and a black of the Tahitian jelly band watches. They are something like 40% off plus another 25% with free shipping. At that price I had to give them a try--I couldn't decide on the color so I ordered both so I can decide (or keep?) I haven't had a new watch since my last Michele--I have seen no need to shop for watches until I saw this sale.

I do love other brands--Cartier, Tag, etc.--but with my style and lifestyle my current watches (the Michele and a David Yurman) work just fine.

In a nutshell, it's a somewhat 'nicer' watch brand that tends toward the bling and the sizable, and is having a moment... I've seen some appealing ones but personally, for the money, I'd rather have something a little more classic.

Swiss, I tried on the Michele jelly in the white, and it's gorgeous. The black isn't bad either but I am looking for a white silicone or ceramic watch with rosetone dial. I ordered a MK on macys F&F and really loved it but at 42mm, it was the size of my entire wrist so I took it back. I need one a little smaller up to 40mm. Enjoy your new watch, you will love it. Bloomies has them on sale. anyway, take care tawny

the one and only tawny from 10/6/04 and a lot of lost posts!!

They're nice watches and are really trendy now -- I have a black ceramic one that I really like a lot! I wanted a ceramic watch but didn't want to spend a ton of $$ on something that I felt was very trendy (loved the Chanel ones) so I got good quality and a fun trend (and a great deal at Jomashop.com)!

Overstock also sometimes has a limited number of Michele styles as does SNBC.

You can't buy love but you can adopt it. Adopt, don't shop.

tawny--just saw your post and I hope you can find a watch with the rosetone. I am looking forward to getting my new watch(es).{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Although it wasn't a Baum & Mercier, Cartier, Tag, etc., I was very comfortable wearing my Michele when we lived in Geneva for a couple of years (2004-2006). As you can imagine, watches are a very important accessory there. I do agree that Micheles are very nice but not necessarily in the category of very high end watches (the price isn't there, either).

tawny: check out the Swiss Legend Karamica on world of watches or ewatches. The ceramic watch measures around 39mm. The beautiful mop dial comes in black or white, and the metal accents are available in rosetone, goldtone, or silvertone. Each combination is a different item.

Many of us on the watch thread have this watch (many have more than one). It's a well made watch with a Swiss movement. World of watches and ewatches are reputable companies (both owned by Swiss Watch International that makes the Swiss Legend brand). There are often sale, so you can get a Karamica for under $200. Shop nbc also sells them, for a little more, but with value pays sometimes.

Technomarine also makes a ceramic watch with rosetone accents and diamonds. But it's a lot more money. Technomarine diamonds (in my experience) are really good quality, but the ones on the ceramic watches are tiny.

I had never heard of them, either, until reading posts on this forum. I actually just checked Overstock out of curiosity, and when you search for the Michele watches, over to the right of the Michele collection it says "people who searched for Michele watches ultimately bought" -- and it shows that more people bought a very inexpensive Geneva watch. Go figure.Wink

I found a Bulova watch for $450 that is TDF! I'm saving my pennies and getting it hopefully next month.

Namaste
