Honora

8.5mm vs. 10mm

Is there a noticeable size difference? I am thinking about buying the TSV, but I really love my 10mm Honora stud earrings and wonder if I would be better off purchasing them in another color.....that said the TSV seems like a great deal.

In my experience, I never want to go smaller. Once you're at 10 mm, you'll probably be happier with another 10mm.

I really think there'd be a difference. Love my 10mm - but they just feel too much when I want to wear pearls and a fairly casual outfit. I wear pearls quite a bit even in my very casual life, but I'm one who saves the classic pearls, the big pearls, and the pearls with gold or diamonds for special occasions.

Some of my favorite Honora are the long strands Joel brought quite a few years ago mixing pearls and gemstones. I think the strands were an AD. I often was looking for earrings to wear well with those strands - and I'm thinking I'd be happier with these 8.5's than I am with the little studs from 3-4 years ago. They'd show and still be casual enough for my everyday pearl days.

I agree if you love the 10 mm and I do..or bigger you probably won't be happier with 8.5-9mm. I think I will though.......because I want the colored ones.

I already have received the TSV (classic colors) and they are a good size. For me, they are the largest I'd wear because I have small earlobes. Ten mms are too big for me--they cover my whole lobe. If you've been wearing 10 mms these tsv earrings are smaller but you won't think they're tiny. They are a great value.

I like 10mm better. And, yes, there is a noticeable size difference. But I bought the TSV in both colorways anyway. I like the colors. If they are too small once I try them on, I can always return them. They're inexpensive enough that I can keep them around for emergency gift giving.

I still have the six offered maybe last year they show. Back then I bought maybe 5 or 6 sets. I have given them to my granddaughter (just got ears pierced in July). The smaller size is great for her. I like button earrings, but hate the smaller size. I am a size 1X, so I feel, personally tiny earrings look silly on me.

I forgot to say I bought 1set each of the TSV today.

I have both the 7mm set from a few years ago and a couple of pair of the 10mm. I wear them all but have to say that the 10mm is really too big for me, so I am very happy to get the 8.5mm which I think will be preferable.

I'm a 10 MM gal. However, I have a set of the TSV in the fashion colors on check status. I'm glad this discussion came up. I did buy the very bright set of Lee Sands 7.5 MM pearls recently because the colors are unlike any I've seen. Even though they are smaller than what I like, they are soooo brightly colored that I'm very happy with them. They go with so many of my Honora necklaces and the colors aren't washed out at all. They pop because of the color. It would be nice if they were 8.5, but I'm keeping them for sure.

So the Honora TSV pearls should be great for me too. I already have all the classic colors in 10 MM. I'm just crazy about pearl studs.

Of course everyone's ears are different. And everyone likes a different size in earrings. But in addition to this, I've found that the roundness of pearl studs makes a big difference in how large they look on the ear. The flatter the top (the more button shaped) the smaller the earring will look. My 8.5mm round Akoya studs look bigger on my ear than a recent pair of 10mm Honora studs that were rather flat on top. Also lighter colors look darker.

So, bottom line there is a visual difference between 8.5mm studs and 10mm studs... all things being equal. But until you see them you won't know if they will be big enough for you.

That's what I thought (regarding the roundness on top). That's why I think I'm going to go ahead with my order for the fashion colors
