anyone ever buy qvc, shopnbc, or hsn tiffany style glass lamps?

Started 1273089405.07 in For the Home Talk | Last reply 1274100626.643 by LeslieR

some of these lamps on qvc, shopnbc, and hsn are gorgeous, but none come with a manufacturer's warranty and that is a major concern relative to defects and fire potential hazzards.

my niece asked if i could post if anyone ever bought any from any of the above networks and has experienced any electrical problems?

i know i would worry about anything electrical if it does not come with a manufacturer's warranty and is UL tested.

replies appreciated and tia.

I bought a beautiful Tiffany style bedside lamp through QVC back in '04. I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. It has worked and held up beautifully. I don't know if that helps. I also know that my neighbor has purchased several Tiffany style lamps, of varying styles and sizes, through QVC and she loves them, has never mentioned having any problems.

Adoreqvc, I have at least a half dozen Tiffany lamps, some from QVC and have had them for years.  Never a problem.  Beautiful lamps, well made and I get tons of compliments from visitors to my home.

I've purchased a Tiffany style lamp from both QVC and HSN.  They are both beautiful and I've had many compliments on both.  No problems with either of them.

QVC's selection and quality of Tiffany style lamps has gone down over the years.  ShopNBC and HSN have beautiful selections.  You can go on their websites and see the selections.

The prices have gone up also.   I remember when I could buy a beautiful table lamp for a little more than $100.   Now they're $200-300 unless one goes on clearance.

I've never had any problems with mine, electrical or otherwise.

I have about about a dozen Tiffany style lamps from the Q.  Some are from the Splendor company (no longer with the Q) and some are from JJ Peng.  No problems.

Adding:  Stay away from the Royal Palace Tiffany style lamps.  I ordered the lily lamp and it was defective.

We have two Tiffany-style lamps.  One we bought from the Home Decorators Collection, and one we bought from ShopNBC (on sale for $130!!!).  They are both nice, but the ShopNBC lamp is hands down the best one.  The colors are gorgeous and bright, while the Home Decorators lamp is very dull looking when not lit.  We haven't had any problems with either lamp, but the ShopNBC lamp hands down wins in terms of look and performance in our house.  I wish we had gotten two, rather than just the one.

I have gotten beautiful Tiffany style lamps from all three shopping channels and have never had a problem with any of them.  The lamps were well packaged and none of them arrived broken. Hope this information helps your niece in her decision.

About 6 years ago I bought a double pull chain tiffany style lamp from HSN.  At the time, I remember they said they destroyed the mold so no more like this were being made.  It's very victorian and I've been very happy with it.

MY DIL bought a tiffany table lamp from HSN quite a few years ago and hasn't had any problems with it.

I purchased one from QVC and the date taped to the bottom from the maker is February 2003. I have never had any problems with it at all, and it is going strong after more than seven years!

I have purchased from all three places and have never had a problem with any of the lamps I received. The T.V. doesn't do them justice. They are beautiful in person. They are packaged very well.

I have 3 Tiffany style lamps that I purchased from ShopNBC in 2006. I absolutely love them and never a problem with them yet. They came beautifully packaged so you really don't have to worry about the shipping process hurting them either, at least not with mine.

I have purchased Tiffany style lamps from the Q, HSN and Shop NBC.

The Q, when Splendor Lighting was the vendor.....great lamps, beautiful, colors outstanding.  I think the quality has gone down since the exit of Splendor Lighting.  I have about 4 or 5 lamps from them.

HSN, I have one lamp......like it very much, no problem.....but I have had this lamp, since 2002 or so.

The lamps I have received from Shop NBC.....simply outstanding.  They have the best pricing and the quality is superb.  I don't think that you will be disappointed in ordering from them.  I know the CS area leaves much to be desired, but hopefully, you won't want to return the lamp.

 I agree the lamps on ShopNBC are beautiful but the vendor tends to get on my one last nerve!{#emotions_dlg.glare}

we thank everyone for all their kind replies.

i called my niece and told her what everyone posted, and she is now ordering a few tiffany lamps from the shop channels.

thanks again...........i guess made in china means no mfg warranty.

i bought capo lamps made in italy years ago which were extremely expensive with gorgeous hand made silk shades, but they did come with a one year manufacturer's warranty. looks like for these style tiffany lamps no warranties are given.

Shopnbc in my opinion is the only way to go. I have about 15 lamps and have purchased many for my boys and sister. Wonderful quality and equally interesting designs.

I own quite a few Tiffany style lamps.  They are gorgeous, and we have never had any problems.  I think it's important to check for the UL listing certification.  It's in the product description.

I have about five of these lamps - one from the Q and one from HSN.  No problems whatsoever.  I have also bought some Dale Tiffany lamps at TJ Maxx and they've been great, too.

I have 8 of different types and sizes--tabletop and torchiere.  I have had them about 10 years.  One stopped working, but the others are all fine.
