Keeping birds out of wreaths?

Spring is here and birds and making nests.  Any hints on how to safely keep a bird from making a nest in your spring wreath on your door?  There is one making one on mine now.  My wreaths fall to the ground several times because of the suction cup hangers I use.  So it's not even safe for them to use.

I wonder if you tucked a fake bird in the wreath if it would keep real birds away?  I know someone told me years ago to put rubber snakes on my deck railing to keep the birds off.  I did and the birds would come and perch on them. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

You know what, Marsha, that's a great idea.  My fids (feathered kids) are afraid of any inanimate object IF it has a face, specifically eyes! lol!  Because they think it's a another living creature.
