Outdoor rugs - wood damage?

I thinking about buying the TSV for my back deck. I'm concerned about damaging the wood by covering it with something all summer. Has anyone had this kind of problem? Or is the polypropylene breathable enough that the underlying wood dries sufficiently?

Thanks.

I have mine on a concrete pad, and use misters all summer long, they appear to dry quickly, as does the flooring beneathe. What I do notice is, the carpets reduce the temp. of the patio drastically.

I have used them on wooden decks for 2 yrs and they seem to protect the treated wood. Of course I take them up in th Fall/Winter.

I've been using one for 3 years now that I got at Sam's Club on my screened in porch LOVE IT absolutely one of the best things ever bought. If it rains on it I roll it up and hang it over the railing to dry, they are not heavy, no damage at all to my wood deck. Actually it protects your wood against sun damage, my wood is stained and when I roll my carpet up to put away for winter you can see around the edges are faded. Feel good on the feet too!!!!!!!!

I can't say my rug did any damage because I didn't have it down more than a month when I lifted up a corner and saw that although it hadn't rained that day, the wood under the rug was still wet from the day before while the rest of the deck was dry.

After I saw that I decided not to take the chance of leaving it down because nothing rots a deck faster than wood that remains wet. I threw mine away.

I have a smaller rug that Ive had on the deck for a while now..

it actually protects the wood from the sun..

I missed out on the tsv .. darn it .. its sold out.

But they do have some nice rugs at costco or sams club, I just have to decide which one I like LOL

One that I really like is 250 bucks ugh . dont know If I should even spend that much since its outside.
