I want to paint a piece of furniture butter too - I hope someone answers.
Saw the color in a magazine and the article said it was Freshaire's Butterfly Wing $40/gallon - no way would I pay that for paint but kept the magazine page so that I might take it to the store and get some kind of color match.

Yellow is difficult. ALWAYS get a couple samples and watch them in the different light all day. That's the only way to know what you are getting.

lexi- I'm checking out some Behr paint colors and saw one called "Butter yellow". It's very pale, almost like a cream color. Also another called "Joyous". A pastel but much brighter. You can always have them add a little white to lighten it up.
I agree with the others who suggested checking out the color in different light. Also consider your lighting, even the type of lightbulbs (regular vs. flourescent ) will create a different look.
Good luck! ;-)

I have behrs lemon chiffon in my diningroom, very soft and pretty. Normally I hate yellows - I get headaches and bright colors bother me but this is a nice color

my all time go-to yellow paint is
YOLO brand GRAIN .02
google it
just beautiful. the website doesn't do it justice. Available at Miller paint stores. I like the inside eggshell finish, but they do satin too

Go to the Benjamin Moore website. They have lots of butter yellows and the paint is excellent. Only one coat is needed.

After having painted my DR, LR, entry and two stairwellslast weekend, I can only say use a quality paint!!! We used Sherwin Williams this time around and it went on like a dream, no splatter or drips, not much smell, etc. It is about $40/gallon but to us well worth it! I've used Behr in the past and there is NO comparison!
Of course any quality paint will be more $$$.

We love Benjamin Moore paint also.....Bronzed Beige is a very pretty soft yellow color....don't be fooled by the name....Also, the sample online looks brighter than what it actually is.

I thought the Butter was at Lowe's. I can't remember who gave the recommendation, but I'm pretty sure it was from Lowe's, not The Home Depot.
I hate it when I can't remember 100%, but I'm 50% on this one. (i think)
