New Costco Timer Flameless Candles

Started 1284346792.753 in For the Home Talk | Last reply 1284922751.667 by Divine

Just got back from Costco and they now have a set of 4 flameless candles with a timer and a faux wick like CI. They are $19.99 and are 5 inches tall. They even come with the batteries. Each candle takes 2 AA but it says 400 hrs battery life. Haven't tried them out yet but they are really nice and at $5.00 a candle can't beat it. I probably should have got 2 sets because I think these will sell.

I bought two sets last year. They were in sets of three, and were six inches tall. They are great, and the long life on two AA's is amazing. You won't be sorry you bought them.

I also bought a set of these but haven't opened them yet. They seemed like a great buy and I'm glad to hear that last year's set was a hit. Sure can't beat $5.00 a candle. AA batteries are less expensive (I buy Costco's brand in a package of 48) so I'm hoping the 400 hour claim is accurate. I'm trying to think of a way to "dress" them up and give as gifts.

Just came home with two sets..... such a deal !! Batteries included ...Duracel ...pushed me over the edge.

I thought they looked 6 inches....but just measured for you all, and they really are 5 inches.

They are much lighter in weight than the ones we get from QVC.... but also, interestingly,

much brighter!!

The yellow glow of the candle light begins about 1 1/2 inches from the bottom and flickers, all the way up.

Mine are going inside cabinets and on open shelving ....where I just adore "candle light" ...

places we could never, safely place a live flame.

I think of all these flameless candles as "safety" combined with glowing BEAUTY !! Smile

(You know, power outages in storms ....and here, during earthquakes, too.)

Wow ....including the batteries.....Costco will sell truck loads of these, for sure.

Best wishes to all .... They're worth a special trip to Costco!

Hi everyone! Can anybody tell me if these candles are fragrance free? Thanks so much!

HOW MANY HOURS ON THE TIMER? i WISH i COULD FIND THESE WITH A 8 HR TIMER. 6 IS NOT ENOUGH AND 10 IS TOO LONG.

Yeah - I'd also like to know about amount of time on timers plus if scented so I'll bump it up and see if someone will answer. Thanks again!Smile

THe ones I saw at my costco were unscented but I don't recall the timer length. I'm thinking of getting them when I go back this week...good to hear positive reviews.

The set I bought at Costco is Vanilla scent with a 5 hour timer. Since lovemygigi said the set she saw was unscented, do you suppose there are different versions that were sent to different Costcos? DM Tiara, thanks for all the info.

I'm sure there are...I have 5 Costco's within 5 miles of my house ( So. Cal) and they have different products in different stores all the time.

I picked up another box for myself today. The scent isn't very strong at all. If they sit out for a couple of weeks, you won't even smell anything. I wanted to have some extras to use in case of power outages.

I have two boxes that I bought last year and I use them in my front windows for Christmas. They are 6 inches, instead of five. But the wax on this year's candles is much thicker. If I didn't know better, I would swear they were made by CI's.

I'm going to Costco on Saturday and am going to look for these. Where in the store did you find the flameless candles?

When I bought mine they were right when you walk into the store. I was at another Costco who had them in the seasonal area.

In my costco they were on the end cap around the picture frames. Make sure they are the ones with the faux wicks and a set of 4. They also had a set with the bulbs that I think were from last year and I think they had 3 in the box. These were not as nice.

My Costco had them on the end cap in the center aisle. I never saw the ones with the bulbs. I don't like that look either. The set that I bought last year had the wicks just like this year's set. So funny how all of the Costco's carry different things.

I may have to start checking out some of the other Costo's in my area. I might be missing something good.

The ones I saw in Costco didn't have the fake wick like ci - they had like a bulb. I'm going to have to go back to see if they got new ones in.

Did they have any fall decorations? I don't get there very often since it's a long drive and a busy part of town.

Do these have the melted wax look or are they the 'unmelted' look? TIA

Last year they had a huge box of "tea lights" in the flame-less that are wonderful!

I use them all over my large wood framed mantle in various containers. Great price!!!

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. I went to Costco this morning and bought a set. They were with the Holiday decorations. The candles look really nice. I can't decide if I'm going to keep them, give them as one gift, or split them up. And they came with batteries-great deal!

Thanks for the heads-up on these. I bought three sets of them. One for me and two for gifts. My store had both the wick type and the ones with the little bulb. I got the set of four wick kind. These are vanilla scented. I'd rather have unscented but the vanilla is still very nice.

Thanks again 5 oclocksomewhere.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Does it say anywhere on the box who makes these wick candles from Costco? I was under the impression that CI was the only one that had the wick type.

I just went to check on the box to see who manufactures these candles. All I could find was that they're made in China and imported by Costco. Down on the side, in very small print, it does say "Style Line", but I don't think that's the makers name. I couldn't find any other reference to the maker.

I did touch the "wick" part of them and it is made of a stiff material. It isn't as soft as a real wick, but has the look of a real wick. Do the CI candles use a real wick? If so, perhaps that's what they mean when they say they're the only one with that wick type.
