Help! High heels a little too big, but next size down is sold out...solutions?

I bought a FABULOUS pair of shoes on HSN (can't remember the designer, they are suede with a little zipper on the back of the heel). I bought my size but they are a little large and they slip in the back. But the next size down (8) is sold out. I don't wear heels like this very often but I love these shoes and want to make them work. They have a small peep toe, so wearing thick socks is not really an option...even if I'm wearing long pants.

I was thinking of trying those gel inserts for high heels and leaving extra to go behind my heel, but I'm not sure how that would work.

Any suggestions other than just stuffing TP in there? {#emotions_dlg.blushing}

They sell heel pads that go on the back heel of your shoe- they are kind of "bone" shaped and stick there- not on the bottom - Nordstroms usually puts these in my shoes as my heels are narrow, but you can buy them at the drugstore also-

I have shoes that are just slightly too big, but the next size down would be too small. I use those foam pad thingies that are kind of a weird warped egg shape (from DSW) and put them either in the heel or often in the front of the shoe so they're actually on TOP of my toes. Works everytime.

Thank you both! I'll look for those. Any other suggestions?
