Where to buy dress pants with a 33 1/2 inch inseam?

Started 1348364495.193 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1348953471.04 by feline fine

I've lost about 20 lbs over the past few months so my pants are all too big.I need a 33 1/2 inch inseam & none of the sites that I've looked at have it.( I'd settle for 33 right now) The inseams that I've found (and this is supposedly for talls) range from 30-32 inches.Does anyone know where I can find pants with at least a 33 inch inseam??

All the varieties of Banana Republic pants come in tall. They have a 34" inseam. I love the Jackson fit for curvy gals.

Thank you.ladies.Just how tall are you Lindsay Kay?!?!? I wear a size 14 & Lane Bryant has some that are 35 inch inseams but I was trying to get away with not having to hem since I haven't sewn in many years.

You need a tall and they usually have an inseam of 34 in. I am 5'7 and I am sick of these designers making an inseam of 32". They are too long. 31 or even 31-1/2 would be better. I don't wear high heels with jeans or pants.

There are numerous retailers who carry 33 1/2 or longer. The challenge is finding pants that don't shrink. LindsayKay did a good job of listing some. I usually try to get at least a 34, so I can end up with around that 33.

Let me know if you suddenly become interesting.

Land's End will hem for free, to order. They go up to 36", depending on the pant. They have corduroys on sale now.

I wear a 12-14 depending on the brand. Good luck! For work pants run (don't walk) to NY & Company. Love their work pants, and sometimes they have really good stuff on clearance. If you have an outlet go there first.

Good luck in your searches!

It is soo funny when you see these people rave about how they have 'tall' sizes only to find that they are 32" inseams.

I just bought some Tall pants as well as jeans from Eddie Bauer, and they have 36 inch inseams. I actually need 34 so I'm hemming them. Their Regulars have an inseam of 33 inches. I have never understood how 32 could be considered Tall for an inseam. Those are flood britches on me.

That extra 1/2 inch is tough requirement. I need longer pants too. I buy mine from Banana Republic which offers 33 inch and 36 inch options.

Thanks for all the responses! I actually found some at Kohls online. The 212 Collection has 34 inch inseams for talls, and some of the Sonoma pants have a 34 inch inseam as well. I know now just to look at Kohls online for pretty much anything I might need in the way of clothing, lingerie, etc.

Me too,LOL. I went to the Kohls store yesterday so I could determine what size I needed. I anadvertently tried on a short....talk about flood britches, they were way above my ankles!!! (the pants were a different size/length than what was marked on the hanger) I also tried on a average, which is a 32 inch inseam, those hit me at the ankle.

I just ordered a pair of black dress pants from the Gap and they are really nice. Perfect fit and excellent quality. I have to have a 34" inseam and I ordered the extra tall and I am going to have to have them hemmed!! They are easily a 36" inseam and have a nice hem that can be turned under for hemming. First time I have ever had to have a pair of pants hemmed!!

You get one go round in this old world and you better make the most of it. It is not a dress rehearsal! Step out of your box and enjoy all that life has to offer!

Just a tip as well: using cuticle scissors, cut the threads that hold the hem or cuff in place. Then, lightly iron over the horizontal crease if there is one. Helps with any length of bottoms, and there's no need to pay a seamstress. Especially if you can't afford it.

And while we're on the subject, LOL, we know that most clothing (that = the most $) is made for the "average" American woman, currently 5'4" & a size 14.

I know that petite women also have issues with clothing lengths, but at least their pants/whatever can be hemmed. Tall girls (like myself, but I'm 'only' 5'8") can't add fabric. Well, at least I wouldn't recommend it, LOL.
