My Walmart Find! Peasant Top!

Started 1335233090.783 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1335882799.24 by LipstickDiva

I just gotta let you know, I wore one of these in the navy and had to purchase more! I absolutely love this top! The material, cotton/poly is sooo soft and light, perfect summer top, I love the navy, white, black and turquise! Only a few colors are left online...but have to say $8 for a top I love? That is crazy. Even my mom got some! Looks so cute with a white skirt, capris or denim jeans!

Good on you! I like Walmart just fine.

Will it last years and years? No, but that just means I can buy more!

Congratulations on getting a good buy on something you will enjoy wearing so much!

Personally, I buy multiples only in simple, basic styles that are very versatile and that can be worn many ways with different pieces and accessories for different looks. I wouldn't buy more than one of a top like this one because the style and the white design on the front make it distinctive -- too obvious that I stocked up on a bunch of just-alike pieces on sale.....

That's very cute! Pretty colors, too.

I'm liking the peasant shirt vibe this year. I bought this top at Macy's in two colors:

Well I thought the same thing about buying more than one or two or three! But some in the stores, well you can see one pic online, i think the purple, some have florals at the bottom, and some have the stitching at the top (which I prefer). I also got a multi color one.... They are literally the softest cotton. They are not tight fitting but are still not boxy. For that price, I just could not resist. There are two different black ones. I didn't see the white but people mentioned that in the reviews, would have loved a white one. My mom is checking her local walmart for the white one. Hope you like them, whoever gets one!

Yep I keep singing the praises of Walmart maxi dresses this season too. $15, $16, $18 bucks for a maxi cute as can be - are you kidding me??!! I already bought about 4-5 and am now expecting another delivery of 4 more which I'll probably get today - I can't wait!!!

Can't wait for this weather to change back to spring/summer and 70s temp so I can start wearing my new finds with new sandals!!!!

Love finds like the ones I now have!

BTW - I am finding a LOT more great styles on line than I've seen in my local Walmart so all of my finds I've ordered on line, true to my size small I'm happy to say and the maxis are just the right length for my 5'4" frame too.

I agree. I have seen these peasant tops in WM. Didn't know they were that cheap though.

But I picked up 3 dresses that are under $10.00 each from WM to wear as a bathing suit cover-up. The price can't be beat. I found them on-line:

The qvc prices are crazy these days..

Wow those tops at Macy's are nice and well priced too. I also have two of those Kimono dresses for my bathing suits. I got the first one at Target for $20 last year and picked up another one in black at walmart. Yeah if you really look you can find some cool stuff at Walmart.

I, too, look really horrid in the wide, rounded neck and short sleeves. This style adds 5 pounds to me. I think I need my neck to grow about 6 inches for this to look good - LOL!

I have to stick to a V-neck.

Really? I thought it was quite slimming actually! It just flowed over my tummy and wasn't too tight, i do have a larger bust though so maybe that's why? I bought so many becuase of how flattering they looked on me! I'm not tan enough to wear my tanks, so these sleeves are perfect and the elastic is not tight at all.

I really liked the Denim & Co peasants tops recently aired, but can't see payiing $35+ for a peasant top when I can get 4 for that price!

Are these really a round neck? The item description refers to it as a scoop neck but the picture looks like the neck comes to a slight, rounded "v." I'm very small across my shoulders so most necklines actually look okay on me.

I like the Macy's tops too except for the smocked bottom. I don't like elastic around the bottom of my tops. I like the looks on others, just not on me.

I would say a scoop or a rounded V neck....they are not high on the neck...I actually wore the navy blue one with jean capris to a sports bar for the UFC fights iwth my hubby saturday night and he actually complimented the top! It's not frumpy at all or cut too high on the neck.

Beyonce's mother has a clothing line at WalMart. www.misstina.com is a her website. The clothes are really, really cute, and the top price for anything is about $20.00, including jeans!

I find Walmart tops to wear very well; in fact just as good as a SG top. After all, they are all made in China. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown} I picked up a couple tops at a larger Walmart and one looks just like a SG top that is in process from the Q. That baby is $54 with s&h so it will go back once it arrives...even tho I have to pay to ship it back.

That means I still have enough $ left to buy 4 more tops from Wallyworld. lol

Hope, >^.^<

kitkom~ congratulations on losing 40 LBS since last summer! Care to share your technique and what worked for you? Personally, I like the peasant shirt on thinner folks- my biceps are huge and that top would look wrong on me
