If so, what are some of your favorite colors to wear on top?
I have a pair of espresso Ann Taylor tropical wool pants that are the perfect weight for this time of year and are very work-appropriate for me, but the pieces I've been wearing with them on top say "late summer" or "fall."
I have some espresso/metallic two-tone high-heel sandals that help "lighten" the look of the pants, so footwear is not a concern.
I could use some fresh ideas for tops, please!
I, too, love brown pants and when it comes to spring and summer dressing, I love nothing better than a very light dusty aqua with the brown-I have a great blazer with a aqua and brown blouse that I wear underneath. I never wear it in winter, but love the look for spring. I also love brown with yellow-just so cheery and of course, the old standby white-I think white and brown aways look fresh. I have a susan Graver blazer that is white and brown and I love the look. Hope that helps.
I sure do - I have some adorable tops with brown in the print, including brown & pink, brown & turquoise, brown & yellow. It's almost as basic as black!

Hi Maddiecat! Brown pants are great in summer. I would wear white, pinks, corals, lavender & lilac shades, shades of light blues, light greens, yellows, light oranges (so it doesn't look like fall). There are tons of colors for you to choose from
This year, with it being all about "color" you should have no trouble finding things to choose from.
Oh, also, I would even POP some color in my shoes too (and don't forget the handbag)

It's not so much the color as it is the fabric. Unfortunately, the only brown slacks I have are thick and winter-ish. I agree, all the tropical colors of torquoise, coral, and yellow go with brown.
I did just buy a cap-sleeved brown blouse that I'm kinda excited about wearing with some tropical-patterned skirts I have.

I do, but tend to shy away from brown in the summer more so than black, though I do wear tan, bone and natural...
I wear brown all year long. i was so glad when alot of companies started making brown crop pants for summer-I get tired of all the pastels and white lasts 1 day on me before it looks dirty!
I not only would wear brown, but I wear navy & black too. If the weather is bad/rainy I'll more tend to wear dark ankle pants or maybe a Linea crop.
i wear khaki capris and I also wear light tan Haband knit pants
when it's 65-70. They are very comfortable.
Brown is a neutral and just about anything goes. Like an early poster already suggested, stick to pastel colors going into spring and summer - pink, blue, green, orange, yellow, lavendar, beige -- they all go with brown. Also, anything floral with brown in it, or a batik or ikat print lightweight tunic top. One of my favorite tops to go with my brown pants is a small print animal print sheer chiffon blouse with a matching tank. I also love a white top with brown pants!
I wear brown pants and crops in the summer with white tops. Love it! I have brown flip flops and flats I wear with them.
Let me know if you suddenly become interesting.
Yep. Problem is they used to be white.
I wear whatever colors I feel like. I don't worry about coordinating colors.

Yes, I wear brown all year. I wear white, cream, turquoise, reds, corals, oranges, greens, and blacks when I wear brown on the bottom. The only colors I don't wear with it are navy blue and grey. I don't wear yellow, but that color would work too.
Why wouldn't I wear brown in the summer? I wear black and navy pants in the summer, why not brown? I "lighten" up the look with spring/summer tops and strappy high heel sandals. But my work pants are the same all year long; black, brown, navy, gray.
I don't own any brown pants at the moment. I like them, just don't have any. I would wear them in the summer if I had some.
Absolutely. Wore my lightweight expresso jeans today and do during the summer. I love brown. It's a good basic color.
No brown anything for me except shoes and purses. My mother dressed me in brown as a child becaue I have brown eyes. My blue eyed sister got to wear all the pretty blue stuff.
Yes, I do ... in fact, I have a colorblock scarf in shades of brown/pink/orange/white, that I pair with chocolate pants. Funny thing, though ... the "colorblock" scarf is over twelve years old ... so much for "new trends," huh?
I don't like brown - don't wear brown anything.
With hope and heart, Kathleen ♥ ♥ ♥

Yes, Maddie, As a matter of fact at this moment I am wearing a brown Ralph Lauren gabardine slacks with a dark brown and aqua Linea cardigan. I wear brown the year round in different fabrics, of course. Actually I wear all the neutrals the year round (except for stark white in winter). Not exclusively, but mostly, I wear neutral pants and pencil skirts. (Other type of skirts may be of all sort of colors or even prints). Now, I happen to love brown, it suits my coloring (auburn hair), goes well with turquoise, aqua, coral and peach, my favorite colors for the warm seasons, and also agrees with most greens. I don't think I could live happily without browns in my spring and summer closet (nor without black!).
I love coral or salmon pink with brown.
I wear brown with turquoise, tan and tropical prints. I purchased a SG animal print with open shoulder (too cool for winter even in Ca.), looking forward to wearing it with my brown or tan pants.
Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy-think on these things.
I don't like brown - don't wear brown anything.
I don't like brown either. Last summer for whatever reason I bought a pair of brown capri pants. Don't know what I was thinking. Put them on yesterday, took them off, into the Goodwill bag they went. I actually get cranky when I put brown on. Crazy huh?
No. Brown is more of a fall/winter color.

I have brown capris that I wear in the summer with white tops, orange or apricot colored tops, or even khaki color tops. I love to wear wooden jewelry with a khaki or orange colored top and my brown capris. I also like to wear sandals that have some kind of rattan or woven material with brown capris or shorts. To me, the color brown is warm and of course, earthy, so it reminds me of the warmth of summertime! If you would wear black and white (the spectator look) in summer, I don't see why you wouldn't wear brown.
one of my favorites, is pink and brown, just looks great toghter, i think!
