Somebody please tell me where to get jeans WITHOUT spandex!!!

Started 1306371392.687 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1306499702.797 by rjean

I am so tired of buying jeans thinking they fit perfectly and then after I've worn them for an hour or so they are at least a size bigger. It has to be the spandex they are putting in all of them now. I didn't used to have this problem. Bought a pair by Ralph Lauren at $90 that were the bet fit I have ever had until I wore them today and they got baggy. It is so frustrating! Does any company make jeans without the spandex anymore?

Oh Lord honey. You must be a skinny somebody. {#emotions_dlg.laugh} I need all the room and stretch I can get. Sometimes cotton fabric and other fabrics will stretch out and they do not have spandex in them. I squat down to make mine stretch but I can't stand tight clothes.

NOOO I am not a skinny minny! I wear a size 14 in jeans. I don't think it matters about what size they are - they still stretch out and get sloppy looking.

LL Bean offers a Jean that is 100 percent cotton. I can't remember the exact style, but if you call them customer service can lead you in the right direction. Hope that helps!

TAlbots has a boyfriend Jean that's 100 cotton. Look at the higher end lines like 7 of all Mankind, Joes Jeans, etc. They have styles with no spandex or 1% which gives you a little give but they don't get baggy. All denim will stretch however so you have to buy them super snug and then they're perfect when they stretch a bit.

I'm with you, OP! I hate jeans that have that stretch to them. I'm just glad I can fit into my old Levis that I've had for years that don't have the stretch.

Try LLBean! They have quite a few styles that are spandex free. The most you'll pay is about $30 and they last forever.

I don't buy any pants with spandex, ever!

cheers!

That is why I don't like anymore than 2% spandex in my jeans. I also think a lot of it depends on the jeans being cheaply made.

I have jeans with 2% spandex that don't stretch out at all and then I have some that I spend the day yanking up because they stretch all out and slide down. Drives me nuts.

Do a google search for 100% cotton jeans.

Down a size?? I go to a 6 from a 10-who are they kidding, my mom says I'm losing weight though-so maybe I am. i know I got tired of having jeans below my navel or up to my hoohas. I like bigger pockets too. I think it helps my rears' self esteem issues-lol.

Actually I find the opposite. The more spandex, the less likely they are to do the "growing-throughout-the-day" thing.

I want some spandex in mine but there are plenty of jeans around with none.

For me, the spandex helps to keep the shape in and they are so much more comfortable!

I agree with this! I have some Levi's 515s capris and shorts with little spandex if any, and they grow baggier than any of my other jeans.

Another vote in agreement. I bought a nice pair of no spandex Levis at Macys a couple of weeks ago and I have to wash them and throw them into the dryer each time I wear them or I look like I'm wearing clown pants. I think I'll cut them off and wear them at home only.

I was just looking at the Wrangler Jeans website yesterday and they have 100% cotton jeans.

The Gap has a lot of jeans without spandex.

Ralph Lauren's classic bootleg jeans are 100% cotton with no spandex. I have been wearing them for years because I hate spandex in jeans. They are the jeans always folded on table at Macy's that come in medium and dark wash and also black. He does have some fashion jeans that do have 2-3 % spandex but I avoid those. The style I am referring to are currently on sale at Macy's for 44.99 (regular $75) with extra 15% off w/coupon. Hope this helps.

I'm with you on the spandex issue. I will accept a small percentage of spandex, but I am sick of getting the perfect fit only to have my jeans feel like they are falling off a couple of hours later. And, I'm sick of being told to go down a size. It's still the same problem, plus I have to start off looking like I've been poured into my jeans, and when they are that tight they stretch out even more to the point of looking odd.

Let me know if you suddenly become interesting.

I can always find either Lee or Levis with and without spandex at JC Penney, and they even have petites!

I saw Land's End jeans on clearance at a Sears Canada store in Canada, I took a look and they did not have spandex in them. Those jeans were cotton and polyester and looked like "mom jeans". No wonder they were on sale for $20 a pair. I saw a couple of tables of those clearance jeans, I have a feeling that they weren't big sellers either.

I love spandex. I don't notice that my jeans stretch out that much at all with 1 or 2% spandex. I notice if there's much more than they, they do stretch a bit. DG2 jeans are awesome--the fit and flare, but they stretch WAY too much--it's the ramie/spandex, etc. blend. I do like that blend, but I wish they'd not stretch out quite so much. I can't stand 100% cotton jeans, and sometimes 1% or 2% spandex isn't enough. I'd like about 2.5 to 3% spandex in mine. One isn't enough for sure imo as I notice very little stretch with 1%.
