PLUS SIZE CLOTHING....

Started 1301759867.97 in Fashion Talk | Last reply 1301847837.51 by diney j

Where do you shop for your plus size clothes? I'm a size XL to 1X. I buy some clothes from the Q and also Woman Within and occasionally from Romans. When buying from the Q I buy Linea, Simply Chole, and Motto.

I'm looking for others vendors who sell plus size. Where do you purchase your clothes? Thank you.

Try Lands' End for classic things or J Jill for comfort.

My niece is a plus size, stylish girl and she likes Lane Bryant, although she also shops Macy's a lot. She likes to try things on so she doesn't shop online for clothes.

Happy shopping!!!

I like my tops long, at least 30 inches, even though I am only 5 feet 5 inches. I am short waisted, so longer tops create an illusion.

I always buy from Woman Within and Roamans. I feel they are the best. In fact, just bought a whole bunch of blouses for the summer instead of wearing last years knit tees/tunic blouses. I was very well satisfied. Just ordered their capris too. And if you return, they do not question. I have ordered their coats also.

You can also try Jessica London and Chadwick's. Avenue is another, Catherine's. I don't know if Lane Bryant is still around online.

I have a Fashion Bug near me, but don't purchase if the blouses look short.

I do order from the Q if the blouses are long enough.

I have a lot of Dennis Basso's coats and they are true to size.

I buy quite a few from QVC and HSN.

Today I got a couple of Michael Kors from Macy's. His plus line has some very nice things and theprice to go with it.{#emotions_dlg.scared}

I know a couple of ladies who shop at Fashion Bug Plus and always look terrific.

Years ago Cathrine's had great, well made clothes. That has changed, unfortunately. I remember they sold a line called Sharron Anthony and her clothes were beautiful. That line has disappeared, sad to say.

I buy all my jeans from Fashion Bug, but find their tops too short for me. I'm long waisted. How do you find the quality of the clothes from Roaman's? I haven't been buying much from them because I bought a tee from them that shrunk after washing. Thanks.

I love Lane Bryant and buy most of my clothes there. I loved Fashion Bug but the one close to us closed. I don't order much from catalogs because it makes me ill to pay shipping both ways.

Talbots has some plus sizes as well, in addition to the above.

CJ Banks is where I get 90% of my tops, jackets. Sign up for their emails you get 10 bucks off for shopping. Buy so many clothes you build up points, once you reach 2,500 points they send you another 10 off. I buy my bottoms at Penny's and tops at CJ Banks better quality. I'm built odd . Dolly P on the top and 14 on bottom.

Most malls that have cj banks have one side for the skinnies and the other for we 1x folks.

Hope this helps !

Bobbisue! I have had success with Newport News, though some on the BB dislike the site. They have a line called Shape-FX that is well priced and has structure sewn into the line that enhances our natural curves. In your size range a 16W should work just right unless your waist is proportionately large to your hips.

I also LOVE the quality of the items that I've purchased at J.Jill, especially the sweaters.

Good luck in your search!

Check out the Avenue. They have cute and trendy clothing.

JLE4136 Jessica London has a 40% off code

I shop a variety of sources depending on the occasion and incorporate "hi/lo":

18-20 Womans or straight 20 -22 (depending on the cut) 6ft.

Q, HSN, (Talbots sizing has changed so I no longer order online), Nordstrom, Ashley Stewart (casual-fun), Macy's and SJKnits (an expert tailor can block certain knit items into an extended size without compromising the garment's integrity)

I enjoy the INC (International Concepts) line sold at Macys. I really enjoy the cute tops but the pants can be a little tricky due to inconsistent sizing in different styles. I also enjoy some of the Michael Kors plus size line but again you must try everything on. Dillards also carries some cute plus size Karen Kane pieces. You can't go wrong with Ralph Lauren for more a more traditional look but I don't think the quality or styles are what they used to be. Macys almost always has a coupon for extra 15-20% off and their Friends and Family sale is coming up last week of April which is extra 25% off regular, sale and clearance prices with no exclusions.

Nordstroms or even Neiman Marcus on line. Quality clothes and they have great sales too.

Was told CJ Banks is changing their lines and going to be more stylish and no more embroidered clothing. They already have some of their new line available and very cute!

I used to love Lane Bryant and Macys, and TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Avenue was great some seasons and awful others.

I am not plus but Fashion Bug has a very nice section of plus clothes the same as misses but larger so they are stylish.

On the Q, sometimes I like IsaacMizrahi but find his sizing inconsistent (prices all over the place too). Linea is nice and I've had a bit of luck sometimes with Chloe Dao's things, one from Erin Featherston, one from LizClaiborneNY. As far as other places, I order a lot from online since I live in a small town with little good shopping - Macy's (Anne Klein or Jones New york mostly - - and there's JonesNewYork.com too where you can order) or Dillards online, occasionally Nordstrom online. I also buy in person at Macy's in nearby town and at TJ Maxx (plus selection there varies). Also, occasionally I like Dana Buchman's stuff at Kohls though really her line for Q was better quality and her previous dept. store line too. Occasionally Talbots online.

Coldwater Creek also offers plus size. I don't buy from them often, but what I've bought I've absolutely loved. I believe they have a 70% off sale going on right now, don't know what the selections are though.

If you want clothes that last A LONG TIME , keep their shape and are well-fitted and made-try the Avenue(and no, I don't work for them)- I have pants and tops that I bet I've had for 15 years and are still wearable!
