Any advice on how I can get tape out? I've tried holding eject button down per my manual for approximately 5 seconds; however, tape still inside the car cassette player. TIA

That said, I'm not wildly optimistic about your chances of getting the tape back. Most likely the motor that powers the tape ejection has developed an issue (broken belt, burned out, lost lubrication, etc.) and that's not likely to be something that heals itself. I'd try wriggling/jiggling any part of the tape case you can see while pressing the eject button just in case it's somehow gotten wedged in at an odd angle and simply needs some assistance to get unwedged. A carefully placed screwdriver might be of assistance there. If that doesn't work (and I don't think it will) then you're in trouble. Tweezers/needle nosed pliers may be able to grab enough of the tape to ease it out, but once again, I'm not optimistic. Good luck! Fly! Eagles! Fly! I've been able to get tapes out of a VCR with a knife and pliers. disdatmac1278424583.7832483 PostsRegistered 12/6/2006New England USA On 7/5/2010 EM7 said: You might also try to slide in a kitchen knife to try to unwedge the tape. Like sticking a knife into a toaster that's plugged in?? :) debbie T Idacat1278425266.1834650 PostsRegistered 7/26/2005Idaho !!!! I was going to ask what a cassette tape was, but I just found one over the weekend when we cleaned out our storage area. I found one behind the tv stand that hasnt been moved in probably 15 years! lol readysk81278575157.26136 PostsRegistered 4/13/2010 On 7/6/2010 Idacat said: On 7/4/2010 gardenman said: First of all, I'm impressed that someone stilll has functioning cassette tapes and a car that plays them. Oh, come on...that would make cassettes obsolete in 1990, which is far from reality (in fact, CD players weren't standard in most cars until 1999). They were still manufacturing plenty of cars with cassette decks through 2005. MaggieToo1279036995.757039 PostsRegistered 10/6/2004AZ My car has cassette and CD. But, before I had a CD in the car, I used a large unfolded paperclip to remove any stuck tapes. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
