According to Verizon I cannot, at least not with their plan!

I'm not a techy expert and am not familiar with Verizon but I can tell you that Samsung makes a phone for Tracfone sold in all the "Mart" stores that is a sliding cellphone that takes really good pics and you can access the internet if you so choose and of course text for $20.

Though the Tracfone service is pay as you go... not a contract. If you don't need a true cellular plan this phone is great for a basic user and pics can also be sent to email addresses.

Hope this info helps :)

What other stuff you don't want? Explain more.. So you want a data plan or no contract with dual cam on it for skype or just one too take pictures which we already can do.

Trac Fone - they have great simple phones and good plans. You can buy them and add minutes as you need them if that's what you want. I love my Trac Fone and there's no monthly cost or bill. I fill my minutes once a year and I get triple.

I have an old phone without all the newfangled tech stuff. It takes lousy pictures. So just get what they have, it doesn't mean you have to use it. Just don't pay for what you aren't going to use.

Did you try going on the Verizon website and seeing what phones they offer? I cannot imagine they don't still have regular phones that are just phones and take pics. I have one, but I'm with Sprint. I don't need a Smartphone, so I am fine with my little Motorola.

I've always gotten mine through the carrier website because you can see everything on your own terms, plus they have better deals.

Sounds like Net10, Tracfone or T-mobile no contract

I have just a plan to use for phone calls and text messages. My phone has a camera too and I can send photos. My phone is just a regular phone, not the smart phone type etc. We get our service through Ntelos. They have plans for all the other stuff, I just don't need any of it.

Don't know what you mean by "all the other stuff" but Verizon has several phones considered basic. One of the phones (LG Octane) has a 3.2 megapixel camera but doesn't require a data plan. Just because a basic phone might be capable of doing "other stuff" it doesn't mean you have to utilize the options.

Verizon lost this long time family because of that very thing last year. The only basic phones they offered looked cheap with cheap features. My teens couldn't stand the phones. So I switched to AT&T which has a much nicer selection of basic phones. We all love our phones, however, not sure I can recommend AT&T because they are constantly messing up our bill....goood luck... Prepay phone may be the way to go if you don't need a family plan.

Verizon does have several basic phones where you do not pay for internet access unless you want it. We just bought two phones and did a BOGO free. Most of their basic phones do come free with a renewal of your contract.

Like everything else the cost of the basic contract has gone up but if you don't want to text or send pictures (I do both) you should be able to get a plan for one person for $35 per month. Otherwise I would do as others suggested and get a pay as you go plan

We are on a Verizon family plan and we all have phones that take pics, send and receive messages and have texting, that's all. These days, that's as basic as you can get.

We have verizon and only have the calling plan. We have text blocked thru the company. My phone takes really good pictures.

This is what I want, no texting at all!

My DH finally confessed, he didn't get "all" the information, you know how men don't like to ask questions, LOL!

Thanks for all of your replies!

I am thinking about the Trac Fone, myself, after talking to a work colleague who has one. I don't care about all the bells and whistles. I hardly ever text, but you can with this phone and take photos...don't know about internet capabilities. I was looking at the $29.99 one on Walmart.com--this one has double minutes for life (when you purchase the minutes separately, they double them--I don't use a lot of minutes, anyway!). Our regular cell is costing us more to use, with monthly bill, than this one will.

I have a Net-10 (with Motorola phone) that has a camera which I've used. Also have web access capability (I don't use this).

I pay $15/month for 200 minutes/month and I love it!

This is exactly what we have. They have blocked texting and internet for us (because we accidentally hit the web button all the time). I'm only interested in calling and sometimes taking a picture (especially to personalize my wallpaper). I've never had a dropped call and Verizon c/s has been terrific (we had one of our phones stolen once). Our phones would do a lot more if we wanted them to (and we'd be paying more).

I have the LG Octane and am on the unlimited texting/450 minute plan...about $55 a month and it has a camera and I can send and receive pictures. Camera is fine...before that I had the LG EnV..

I could add various data plans but also do not have a real need or budget for them at the moment...but Verizon does offer phones with cameras that let you talk and text and cost is not prohibitive

I now text more than talk and this is my only phone..dropped my landline two years ago and have been fine for the most part. I don't think cell phone voice clarity is as good as landlines but there are always tradeoffs...

I have Verizon and I have just a basic phone. No internet. I love Verizon. I've been with them since I bought my very first cell phone years ago. No problems ever, except an over-charge once and they handled it very well. I really like their Customer Service and I really like their phones. They have a huge selection - all types, all prices, definitely some basic ones. {#emotions_dlg.sleep}

Hooty, I had a need for a cheap cell for just 2 months recently. I chose Consumer Cellular, and was very pleased. They have several phones to choose from, but I just selected the free Motorola--very basic. I didn't want texting, nor internet. They have a choice of monthly plans that require no contract and can be changed or cancelled at any time with no penalty. I also liked that a person answered CS and was very nice. Cheap and effective--all I wanted!
