I'm not sure, but I know that Maybelline, L'Oreal, and Lancome are all owned by Lancome.  For example Lancome has a mousse type blush ($26) and so does Maybelline ($7) and the formulation is the same.  You could probably find a good duplicate for Lancome mascara in the L'oreal line.  Some websites (like Covergirl and L'oreal) have a makeup matching function where you type in what you're using and it offers suggestions (some are more fine-tuned than others).  HTH!

actually lancome is owned by Loreal. At least thats what i was told. I don't know about a website to compare products but that would be nice. I have been a long time lancome mascara user and have tried everything to save a few bucks but nothing to my satisfaction.

covergirl was running a commercial saying you could find their dupes for dept store brands. haven't checked it out myself, but I'd give that a try.

beautypedia.com has the details-but you need to to the reading & comparison.

I think it is worthwhile.  I found out how common the ingredients in LaMer are!

I know Comsumer Reports does reviews and ratings of makeup.  There is a grocery store mag that does also - I think it's call Shopsmart.

Myself, I prefer drugstore brands such as Loreal or Almay.  If I want to go fancy, I head into the department store and get some Estee Lauder.  I've been brand loyal to these companies for years.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm using Lancome Definicils Pro with a curved brush and love it. But, I'm tired of paying the high price. I'd like to find a drugstore equivalent.
