Gel Nail Polish- do all gel polishes need light kit to dry?

Love the look of gel polish. I've always done my own nails and would like to try gel polish but really hate to invest in light kit. Are there any gels that do not need the light kit?

If so-any recommendations on a brand?

Zoya has a few. I got a coral set of them from birchbox.com, they are $22.00 with free shipping. Love them, I've been wearing them for a couple of months and they don't seem to chip as easily as some. Birchbox still has them on their site.

Biker2 - I just wrote a review of LCN Polish Seal yesterday. It can be used with any polish and cured with a regular 60 watt or higher bulb or LED light. It's $22 plus shipping, which is a little steep, but considering the cost of one gel mani or purchasing the light, it's a bargain. It might be worth a try for you.

Sensationail at Walmart or CVS comes with everything you need including the light for $50-$60. This is what I use and the manicure last for 2 weeks. Zoya does not make gel cured polishes.

Forgot to mention Red Carpet Manicure also comes with everything including the light for about $80 dollars at Ulta. Never tried it but I'm sure you can find reviews on this and Sensationail on Makeup Alley.

Thanks for your recommendations and suggestions.

I'll watch for a sale - I did see the Sensationail at Walmart and at the time did not want to spend that much for something I was not sure on.

Have a safe 4th of July!

If you don't want the immediate expense, you should try Revlon's Colorstay polishes. They are NOT gels, but they give the look, shine and wear of a gel.

I have been very impressed with them. My favorite is Red Carpet and Delicious. I use these polishes without a top coat and after 8 days with no chipping, easily remove them to change the color. Haven't went until they chip off, so I don't know how long they would actually last. But for me 8 days is WAY long, I need color change every week or I get bored.

Salllys has GELOUS. Advanced nail gel coat that does not need light. It is like a thick top coat. I thinking i paid around 6 dollars.
