serious skin care spokesperson

Serious Skin Care is on right now and there is someone on in addition to Jennifer. Anyone know who it is? She has the worst voice I've ever heard for a spokesperson.

Isn't that Celia the daughter of the woman who developed SSC? I can't remember the name of the woman who really developed the SSC line. Everything now says that Jennifer was the developer and not a single mention of that woman. I remember ages ago when I originally bought SSC for my then teenage daughters acne skin. The woman talked about developing the line for her own daughter who had serious problems that nothing on the market worked for her. Jennifer started using it and became the spokesperson talking about how it saved her career. Well gee, now she's the developer?

ETA - took a bit of googling, but found the name of the esthetician who truly was behind SSC - Lesa Stock!

Was it Lisa Stock? I remember her from when SSC was originally on HSN. That was back when they only sold a high quality acne kit instead of all the thousands of throw away products they sell now. I wondered what had happened to her.

By the way, I think Victoria Principal did the same thing to the original creator of her line, Aida Thibiant.

Yup, it was Lesa Stock - sorry, I edited my original post to add that and didn't see you had posted it!

I guess Celia is really Cecelia, and yes she is Lesa's daughter. I did find that Lesa is the President of SSC. I also found in my search that HSN and SSC were actually sued by the US Govt for making pharmaceutical and excessive claims without backup proof/documentation. Gee - maybe I should google more often!

I know the original acne treatment line worked very well for my daughter, but none of the rest of the lines have ever really worked for me.

I have to MUTE the sound when she speaks. It is the proverbial nails on a chalkboard for me.

I guess her connections keep her!

CeCe just announced she is about to turn the big 40, she looks adorable.

Cecelia - she DOES have the worst nasaly voice ever! She should not be allowed to be a spokesperson. However, she has been with them since the beginning. Like the line, but don't care for any of their spokeswoman.

She is attractive. I prefer her hair styled so that it not pulled tightly back. Her voice, though, is not the easiest to listen to.

Cecelia wasn't on the air at the beginning (mid-1990s), her mother Lesa Stock was. They did show Cecelia's picture, though.

Speaking of Jennifer, I saw her yesterday with brown hair and more work on her face and she really looks different. I like her, but I don't care for her line. I've tried dibs and dabs over the years and didn't stick with a single product.

Celia puts on the make-up and serum on the models. I agree about her voice.after awhile it is irritating. They both are knowledgeable though.

I really guess she has something to do with ssc

She's the daughter of the founder Lesa Stock- and the original line was created to help her with her skin problems.

I can't stand her voice either. I do like some SSC products, but it seems like they are getting rather expensive unless you want to buy a big kit. I liked their Creamarium, but now it's Super Creamarium Evolve and costs like $89. Too rich for my pocketbook. I also looked at the Pure-Pep last night, but it is $59/oz and the first ingredients are Propylene Glycol and a bunch of silicones. No thanks.

I always enjoyed Lesa.

I can't even find a photo of her online.

I love watching CeCe because it's like she could lose it at any minute. She always sounds like she's just about to start laughing hysterically. Her voice sounds almost exactly like Kate Somerville to me.

L OL I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds her voice like nails on a blackboard! And I do remember when SSC began with her mother and Jennifer and the only line was for acne. Now there are so many lines and products I think it's very confusing as to what to use and when to use it. I notice they keep saying to alternate and to layer just to get you to buy more. As I posted earlier today , I bought the firmaface and it does absolutely nothing for my skin, just a waste of money.

I used to turn her off but I have actually grown to like her, she makes sense, she just has a funny voice, it's more like a cute little cartoon character. She's funny, I think her name is Sici

I can take the voice, it's her reading all the product descriptions (badly) that drives me nuts. At least Jennifer (this time) seemed to be better prepared to ad lib (her reading is as bad or worse than CeCe's). When they are both reading through the entire broadcast, I have to turn it off.

I have been a customer of SSC since it first started. I love the C-Line. I was sorry that Lesa Stock is no longer on the air, I did like her. As for Ceclia, I knew she was Lesa's daughter and I had no trouble when she started on the air. Her voice is fine for me. I think you are all harsh on her, she seems like such a nice person. Funny, but I think my voice on an answering machine is awful. Did you ever hear yourself talk?

Was she on HSN? I thought she wouldn't be around for a while after her step son died.

ETA: Nevermind. I see that this is an older post.

Neytiri, I was thinking the same thing, geez wasn't he just buried. Gosh just a little to soon to be selling your skincare line, just seems wrong. Oh well, business as usual.{#emotions_dlg.mellow}

I can take her or leave her. I remember liking Lesa but couldn't take the sight of her hands - they looked to be 120 years old.

Do you guys remember when Jillian Barberie was the spokesperson and did shows for the Continuously Clear line? That lasted all 5 minutes.

dsky1343360662.6931005 PostsRegistered 1/3/2009

I remember Jillian also firstclassintl, she was a little crass in her demeanor, not a good spokesperson. Anyway when Coninuously Clear (SSC's first and only line on HSN) first aired I bought it and loved it for years until they reformulated it and I felt it never worked as good. No acne line was as good as their original line. Actually it was the Winter of 97 when I first started watching HSN because I was on bed rest for my pregnancy and SSC was on, and acne was always a problem for me until I got into my fifties. I was hooked on ALL the shopping channels ever since, lol.
