Would that concern you?

I would assume that everyone knew that because of the price point.

The guy who owns Borba also owns Elf.

Scott Borba.

Are you REALLY surprised that cosmetics that cost just a couple of dollars are made in China???

Do you think they would be able to make the in the USA for the same price, or even double the price?

It does not concern me because they are dirt cheap. You get what you pay. However, if it costs me over $30, then that concerns me.

I agree with claudiaanne. To keep the prices that low, chances are the product is made in China.

I thought that was a rumor. I remember reading Nordstroms owned E.L.F., then that rumor was shot down.

e.l.f. Cosmetics was founded by Joseph Shamah and Scott Vincent Borba in June 2004.

I'm totally stunned! Flabbergasted!

I don't like their makeup, though I haven't tried it all but everything I bought in makeup I ended up throwing out.

I like their studio line brushes!

Yes made in China but I haven't heard of anybody having a bad reaction to the makeup if that is your concern.
It's used by thousands of women everyday.

Do you like Coastal Scents eyeshadow palettes? Made in China too.

My point was - Are you concerned about what might be in the products? Maybe lead?

Some of the powders contain talc & mica.

I just bought an eyeshadow palette from them. A Go Pallet. No, I didn't know it's made in China, too.

You may or may not have any symptoms, it stays in your body. I don't know why anyone would knowingly buy any cosmetics/food that came from China. They have consistantly tried to kill our pets, poison our children, send cancer producing chemicals in drywall to the USA

FYI... Diamond Foods, recent dog food recall, was produced in SC.

I don't have a dog and don't remember why the recall. But many animal food producers get products from China.....

You might be right about the lead, I don't know so I can't say.

Like I said, thousands of women use it everyday without a problem but it's about what you are comfortable with.
I would say don't use it if you're going to be worried about it, worry takes all the joy out of using it.
Personally no I'm not concerned but not saying what you should do.

The CS palettes that I'm referring to are the ones like the 120, the warm, the metallic etc., you know the ones in the black plastic palettes, they also make like 6 blush palettes and other similar, I don't know about the Go Palettes.

I buy them directly from China on ebay, why pay the middleman right?
But for those who worry about made in China, they should probably not get those either.

I am a bit surprised that you are flabbergasted, because so many cosmetics are made in China, it's not all that unusual? Especially cheap makeup I just take it for granted.

I was joking. LOL

Both Claudia & Cosmetics crazy misunderstood the thread.

The thread was asking if anyone is concerned that's in made in China, not if you're surprised it's made in China.

From my local news website.

ATLANTA (AP) — Diamond Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling its Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice dry dog food because it may be contaminated with salmonella.

A statement from the company Friday said no illnesses have been reported and no other Diamond products are affected.

Pets that eat the food or people who handle it could become infected with salmonella. Healthy people infected with salmonella should watch for the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.

Pets with salmonella may have decreased appetite fever and abdominal pain.

The product was distributed to customers in 12 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. It is possible those customers may have distributed it to other states.

Customers who have purchased the following Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice products should stop feeding it to their pets and discard it:

— 6-pound bag with the production code DLR0101D3XALW and best before Jan. 4, 2013;

— 20-pound bag with the production code DLR0101C31XAG and best before Jan. 3, 2013;

— 40-pound bag with the production code DLR0101C31XMF and best before Jan. 3, 2013;

— 40-pound bag with the production code DLR0101C31XAG and best before Jan. 3, 2013;

— 40-pound bag with the production code DLR0101D32XMS and best before Jan. 4, 2013.

Cheaply priced makeup I expect to be made in China. Higher end/higher priced cosmetics, I do not.

Tarte, Smashbox, Stila, IT, Eve Pearl all have some or all of their products made in China. I no longer purchase from these lines. With them, it seems that greed is the driving factor behind their decision to manufacture in China. They all are rather pricey cosmetics unlike ELF.

No, I would not use cosmetics made in China. There have been too many issues with food produced in that country. There is poor control over the supply chain and that isn't an issue that owners can fix.

I was shocked to see so many more expensive lines being made in China but with American made price tags.

They cut down on costs moving overseas but then charge the same or more for their products.

At least ELF is passing on the savings to their customer base.

That's ok. No big deal.

I see a few people also read the thread without reading the rest of the post.

Being 'made in China' never concerned me at all until I started reading these boards. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}
