I need a skin firming lotion!!!!

Started 1335907571.363 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1337306234.813 by snowball
The weather is getting warm and I have starting wearing short sleeves again. I am thin but the skin on my arms has gotten very wrinkled looking since last summer. (I'm 62) Does anyone have a skin firming lotion to recommend? I feel very self conscious about my arms and I need to do something! Thanks!

Look at the Perlier products on HSN. They have a skin firming honey cream and a special firming cream for your arms. I haven't tried them myself but all their other products are really good.

Jergens has a skin firming lotion. But - you have to use it all year around. These aren't quick fixes.

Lotions help, but I would suggest, if your in good health to get some light weights. Their are short video's on the demand channel for workouts, showing you the proper way to firm up your upper arms. Then as you get use to them you can step it up to a heavier hand weight. A good moisturing lotion that will work well is "Eucerin" it a moisture rich formula & is also a healing lotion for those aches & it's fragrance free with a nice dewy glow.

Try exercising with 3 to 5 lb. weights with your arms. Laser may work to but you need to ask a Dermatologist. Good luck to you.

I agree that you have to be faithful to get and maintain results. Jergens has a firming component and so does the Philosophy lotions.

Isomers Body Lotios or Dr Denese.

Start off with the 3, you will see result shortly if you do it daily, then twice a day when you adapt to them. You will be sore in the beginning, so you may want to skip a day & then built up till your comfortable. No need for a derm, unless you have some sort of arthritis, you will see sooner than later your upper arms will tightened & look toned. Your still young, do it girl!

I'm starting to feel like I work for this company but here I go again.

Prtty Peaushun, pronounced "pretty potion" is like a body stocking for your skin. It's amazing stuff that's nearly all natural and it tightens your skin the entire day. It also comes in different shades from clear all the way to very dark so you can even fake a tan with it.

I'm addicted to it.

This is my suggestion too. I bought the honey body balm today and they have 2 or 3 other firming products. I also like Dr. Denese's newer lotion--bought it from her website on sale.

I have been picking up 5 lb. dumbells (in each hand) for probably 15 years. I have arthritis so when I went to physical therapy, they gave me a chart with the exercises I should do. I've been doing the exercises faithfully all this time, but my arms are still horrendous. I started using Wei East Chestnut Body Firming Creme (from HSN), and it actually seems to help somewhat. I'm also thinking of purchasing the ShakeWeights to see if they help also. QVC has them now, as well as Amazon.

Over 70 years old, very dry skin, no wrinkles except for deep lines around mouth.

I too am 62....lost weight on purpose and the arms SERIOUSLY looked like Roman Shades......when they were slayed open, there was a curtain-like look of ripples. Oh. My God.

So I added weights (started with 5 and now 8 lbs). I also have a Pilates reformer which gives you a great arm workout.

For the cream, I used to like the Perlier Arm and Bust cream, but it was LOADED with parabens and silicones and just did nor want to add them especially to the area on the arms where lymph nodes are. So I now use Perricone Cold Plasma for the body as well as Suzanne Somers new Thigh Cellulite cream (it is sold out for now, but is on SNBC).......it has been a little over a month and the difference is HUGE. I figure in another month, I may even be willing to go sleeveless.....WOW!!......but I believe a cream alone will not do it...you MUST add the the weights to lift the musclature underneath that supports the skin.......best to you!

forgot to mention to work the TRICEP muscle a bit more than the bicep to help get rid of the "bingo arms" as I call them!!!

I do weight training but that doesn't help the loose wrinkly skin. Will try some of the products that have been recommended here. Thanks everyone!

I forgot to mention, I also in the shower first use a loofah type when soaping to exfoliate, but more importantly use a Bliss "Fat Girl (what a horrible name) Stimulator. It has a handle and plastic teeth (got it on amazon for like $17) and really give that area a good massage (enough to get the blood really moving so it turns pink)...also use it on thighs!!!!........then when I get out apply the lotions mentioned below. I think that extra step of increasing circulation helps!............I also intend to do a dry brush every once in awhile as it is just good for lymph drainage which ultimately helps skintone all over.........good luck my sister in the war against Bingo arms!!!!:):)

Claudiaanne-where are you purchasing? Directly from their site?

Dry brushing will firm and tone your skin (and make it baby smooth and soft) like no lotion or potion can!

Do you use a Salux or a skin brush?

BellaCarro, I agree with Dharma. I drybrush my skin. I bought the kit from carol maggio's site. Her loufa mitt is the best out there. I am going to get the horsehair mitt soon. She has a nice dvd regarding the drybrushing and her no lipo lipo system. I don't use her oils, I use my own from the grocery store and it works just fine. I think she also has a body lifting lotion or something like that.

You are way ahead of the game because you lift weights. I think if you add the drybrushing, no lipo lipo, and the lotion that claudiaanne mentioned, you will be attacking the problem from all angles. Just putting on a lotion or just lifting weights are fine when one is younger, but we need to do more as time goes on. Like classic cars, we are nice to look at and fun to ride, but we need all kinds of maintenance. LOL!

I love the regular Loreal subline firming gel. They make a regular one and a self tan one. It really did work using it faithfully twice a day. However, once you stop, your skin returns to it's non-firm state. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Always end the day with a positive thought. No matter how hard things were, tomorrow's a fresh opportunity to make it better.

Thanks and ITA on the multi level approach. I hate lifting weights but force myself to. I'll stay in Spin class all day so I know the intense cardio helps too. I will check out your rec.

I saw Perlier, too, and Amanda swears by it, using it morning and night faithfully. Results are seen without exercise. She said she tested it on one arm, and could notice the difference quickly. I work on my arms daily and see a little muscle but no firming.
