HAIR ONE vs. WEN

Hair One is supposed to be the dupe for WEN, sold at Sally Beauty Supply Store. Has anyone tried it? Is it really just as good as WEN?

I am 100% wen girl! I feel in love with Wen about a year ago and now its all I use! I was excited when I heard about Hair one so I went and grabbed a bottle and WOW was I disappointed! NOTHING like Wen! The consistantcy is nothing like wen and my hair felt horrible after using it. back to sallys it went! Avoid this stuff like the plague!

Previously "Justa" "JAWAM" or justawifeandmom changed it because I was tired of the comments.

I have used hair one and liked it. I have not purchased Wen. When I became interested in Wen that is when I found Hair One.

Back when this was hot on this board the reviews for comparison were all over. Some said just the same. Some said better. Some said not as good. Sooooo, what I say is that what I remember is they were pretty cheap. You wont lose any real amount to try. If you don't like it give it away or shave your legs with it.

Good luck.

To me, it works every bit as good EXCEPT for the fragrances. WEN is hands-down better with fragrance. I mix them, or I use WEN as the leave-in / or both.

I'm always looking for ways to save money and make my Wen for further so I've tried Hair One and the co-washing many people have talked about and IMHO nothing is even close to Wen. I liked the smell (I tried argan oil and olive oil I think), but my hair was greasey (yes I rinsed properly, I'm a Wen girl) and my hair felt coated. I also felt like it stripped my color at the roots (I only color my roots), in all fairness it could have been that I never noticed my roots before using Hair One, but they really stood out after using h.o. I liked that you could buy a one time packet for under $2 so you could travel easily and you don't have to pay shipping, but FOR ME it didn't work as well as Wen. I will probably use on my 7 year old though. Everyone's hair is different, it didn't work for me, but it could very well be your hg so I would at least try a packet.

I've tried both.

I started out using H.O. for months on its own then I used it as just a conditioner after shampooing and then went back to using it as a conditioning cleanser (the you're suppose to use it) for months. Then I tried Wen, to compare the difference. And in all honesty, I don't think H.O. compares to the Wen.

I know the products are suppose to be comparable but Wens ingredients are superior. For as much as you need to use with Wen you have to use MORE with H.O. Wen is easier to work through the hair and it rinses out better. My hair feels 100% better when I use Wen.

I will say that when I was using H.O. I loved how it made my hair feel. That's why I stuck with it for so long (11-12 months). I really wanted it to do more with my hair then what I think the product was capable of doing.

I just started using Wen 2 months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! I will never use anything else. I have finally found the combo of what is really going to make my hair look great.

I agree with justawifeandmom.

I have been using WEN since June 2008, but I was anxious to try Hair One out of curiosity. I bought three bottles at Sally's, and was incredibly disappointed. There is no similarity to WEN at all, in my opinion, except for the fact that it's a type of "cleansing conditioner." After three days of using Hair One (I wanted to like it even though I saw from the first use that it was a faaaar cry from WEN in terms of results), I had to stop using it because my hair's condition was quickly declining. My hair became more dry, more frizzy, and much less unmanageable.

It took me about four days back on WEN to get my hair back to better shape after using Hair One. Yuck!!

Thank goodness Sally's refunded my 3 bottles.

My curly, frizzy hair feels smoother, and appears less frizzy, with Wen; Hair One didn't leave my hair feeling bouncy and light. I also thought Hair One was drying (I tried all the H.O. varieties, too).

Hair One doesn't work as well as WEN does on my hair. So, IMO, there is no comparison. WEN wins, hands down.

I'm cool toned. Yellow foundations make me look jaundiced. That is NOT the look I am going for.

The first Hair One I bought was the Olive Oil one. I didn't like it at all. I went ahead and tried a few others. Glad I did, because for me, the Jojoba one worked really well. I normally cleanse during the week with Hair One and use my Wen on the weekends.

I have have only used the olive oil hair one. I didn't like it at all. Wen is much, much better, but you do have to find the right formula for you. Lavender is good for me. Tea Tree weighs my hair down.

I have tried probably every "dupe" of WEN out there and nothing comes even close to the results WEN gives my hair. I have good hair naturally but WEN takes it to another level. I will never stray from WEN again. The results are worth the cost and if you get gallons or TSVs, you get a better deal. BUt, with that said, it can't hurt to try it since it isn't expensive and we are all different. Who knows, it could end up being the best thing you've ever tried.

I have both and for me there is really no comparison. Wen is the far better product. I will not buy any more of the Sally brand.

i tried HO also (I am a wen girl and have been using it for about 2 years now)...it did not compare to wen at all. I will use it on my kids, but for me I went straight back to wen....

it's too bad, because it was a lot cheaper, but I'd rather pay more and have great hair...

I tried it. I didn't like it as well as Wen, or Hair One Jojoba.

But, I liked it better than Hair One's Olive Oil and Argan Oil.

You should give it a try. You might like it, and it was actually cheaper than Hair One.

Hair one stinks. The smell is awful.

I used Hair One before I used WEN. I liked the idea that I could buy it locally. Hair One (at the time I used it) had a LOT of menthol in it. Then I tried WEN and would never go back to Hair One. The worst thing about WEN is I have to order it with all the shipping and handling and plan when to buy it etc but it is the only thing I have used on my hair the last 3 years.. and I am so not loyal to anything except WEN!

Ditto. I tried the Hair One Jojoba.
