4 plastic surgeon's recommend drugstore products verses face lift on Dr. Oz

Started 1330182295.393 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1330292358.513 by Shelbelle

Who saw the show yesterday? Only caught 2 products they highly recommended was a "eye lift product called Sudden change 11.99 & the other was "Brazilen Peel" Now I know they mentioned one for -lip & smile lines- face filler to use a night- & a plumping lip product...They seem to think that these products are an alterative to a face lift? So I am curious but realistic. So my Question to you ladies is: Did you get the names of those products I mentioned? All drugstore! curious on the smile line product!

Dr Stuart Linder who was also on 20/20 last night recommended L'Oreal Revitalift for firming and sagging.

Funny, I never watch show but was happy I saw it yesterday. One product was Earth Science Hydroxy Acid Night Rejuvinator 1 fl oz (30 ml). The L'Oreal listed above is "Double Lifting" if that helps find it. (I bought it yesterday.). BTW, it is on sale at Beauty.com. Another is Too Faced Lip Injection Treatment. I am unsure if this came from Dr. Oz but another product is Talika Eyelash Lipocils. I saw it yesterday on tv somewhere. Hope this helps.

Yes, these were all mentioned yesterday on Dr Oz by 3 different plastic surgeons.

The Double Lift from L'Oreal is only $11.97 at Walmart.

Thanks Shelbelle & Beachluvr! None of them recommended high end products. So what does that tell us? hmm..

Isn't it true that most of the products out there are only made by a few companies? However, we think a high price makes a better product.

Shelbelle did you see Sudden change at Walmart. the Dr. that is a specialist for eye surgery said that that product is also good for under eye lines, bags & hooded lids. My upper eye lids are just starting to droop, I don't care if it's temporary if it works!

Isn't Loreal on the "tests on animals" list? I am thinking they are.

Dr. Oz issued a challenge which was to find DRUGSTORE products UNDER $25 (I think that was the amount). So, that's why they didnt' recommend high end products.

Dr. Oz and his beauty expert Marie Czenko Kuechel previewed treatments for the most common areas including getting plump lips, reducing wrinkles and cellulite. The treatments are:

Brazilian Peel
DDF 400x Micro-Polishing System
Lytess Slimming Leggings
Skinmedica TNS Lipplump System

Looks like there are quite a few Sudden Change products. Anyone know which one(s) they specifically recommended?

Dharma, I looked it up & they have "Sudden change" at Walgreen's with good reviews mostly. It's for upper lids, under eye lines & bags for 11.99 It was highly recommend by the Doctor who specializes with eye surgery, Hey I'll give it a try for 11.99!

I've used Sudden Change, it leaves the "egg white" look under your eyes, plus it is SO DRYING! And I only used a teeny bit, I know if you overdo it, you are bound to get the egg white look.

There are a lot of different Sudden Change eye products though (did you click on the link I provided)? Just wondering which one was on the show....serum? cream? and which one specifically?

Dharma, the product mentioned was Sudden Change Under Eye Firming Serum. MJ198, not sure what is the egg white look but I think anything is better than what I have now. I am assuming I can remove it if I don't like it.

Thanks!

Maybe she meant that it makes your skin shiny, like a shiny film is on it? That's what I think of when I think of egg whites.

Yes, at least you can buy it online at drugstore sites (probably cheaper than Walgreens, etc).

Look HERE.

Sudden Change has been around for many years and was the first product I ever tried to tighten my undereye bags. The problem I had with it at the time was that it left a white residue after wearing for a couple of hours. I can only assume they have improved the formula this many years later and I'm going to re-try it. I have since been using Genie and have been pleased with it, but if today's Sudden Change has been improved, well, you can't compare the two as far as price! I have no idea what she is talking about "the egg white look" and it can be removed easily, even just with water.

Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.

I had no problem when searching for earth science hydroxy acid, but it was difficult to find in stock. I ordered it from a site that I have never shopped "imedmart". There is a site for Earth Science that shows where their products are sold, but I didn't want to go looking.

Oh sorry. I didn't notice it was out of stock in the vitacost link I sent.

I buy Earth Science products from Vitacost. I use the aloe complexion toner. Great ingredients and great prices.

Well, they must have improved "Sudden Change," because I tried it maybe 5 or 6 years ago, and you could see it on your face (a film)...and then it actually "peeled" off in one piece when I went to remove it. I tried using less and had the same experience every time. Who knows? If it's getting good reviews now, maybe they changed it. Let's hope so.
