Chi Flat Irons

Started 1323362813.593 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1323367537.147 by bopper

Good Morning, hope you are all having a great day!

I wondered if the Chi flat iron is really the best iron for straightening and curling hair or if I could find a less expensive iron to use. It really isn't in my budget right now but I have watched the video's and they look to be very good.

Thank You Smile

I love mine! They have several now at TJ Maxx for 69 or if you want to be more budget friendly try the Q version on easy pay. I have long hair and it is a miracle worker! I have tried others in the past and didnt have much luck. Sally Beauty has a generic version for $59ish I think that I have had in the past and loved. Just make sure you have temp settings.

Thanks, no TJ Maxx near me. Is Sally Beauty online, as we don't have that store either. We kind of live in a poor shopping area.

Thank you.

I have had both the Chi and the Sally's GVC version, and prefer the Sally's for $50. My next flat iron will be a Sedu. Heard great things about it, supposed to be the best. I straighten my hair every day, though do not wash it every day...keeps it healthy!

OH Bummer! Do you currently use a different one? I think there are other brands that are also very nice but honestly you get what you pay for. I think any iron under $50 just wont perform well. If you only do light touch ups you may not need to shell out the $$. :)

I think the iron you choose depends on your hair. Is it thick? Curly? Course? Fine? If your hair is course and thick you need an iron with more punch than if it's fine or thin. One size does not fit all with straightening irons and what works for some definitely won't work for others.

If you are only doing light touch ups, if you could I would order the Sally's online! I use one from Japan, that I got on Amazon, and I can't even spell it. It's good, but like I said I'm getting the Sedu next. The Chi got super hot and I was worried I was always burning my hair, though it did do a good job...though the Sally's seemed very similar to the Chi.

I love my Chi and have had my 1st for many years. Because I depend on it so much, I purchased another just in case. My hair is very curly in front and wavy in the back. My 1st my stylist purchased for me at her cost. Maybe your stylist would order for you. My 2nd is from a sale at Ulta store. I think you could purchase at Ulta.com where they often have them on sale.

I don't use flat irons, but my DD and girlfriends swear CHI is the best. I got my daughter one at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Most of them were $100 or more, however, the off-season colors were marked down and I put a 20% coupon on top of it. I ending up paying $43 for it in the color white. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Also, Ulta carries them. On another forum, they said the code BML25 will get you 25% off one item, good until 12/31/11. If you go to Ultra.com, try this code because they said it's working even on the excluded items like BE, etc...

My hair is fine and thin. Above the shoulders.
