Started 1323024816.063 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1323197368.97 by Anonymous1970

HELP, I need ideas, want something fun - something everyone would be happy to have.

The age range is 24-71 MALE & FEMALE so I think something unisex would be important.

I am at a LOSS for ideas.

It can be something fun or maybe something useful like something for thier cars or home.....

Just need ideas!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Dr. Oz recommends accupressure mats for sleep, muscle relaxation, weight loss, etc. I just bought this one for myself

There are more expensive ones on amazon with more reviews...people seem to like them!

How about a sonic toothbrush? ... It's the dental hygienist in me thinking this one up!

If you have a new restaurant or theater in town, a $50 gift certificate to one of those would be something I'd like to get.

How about these soap "rocks?" This was just discussed on another thread. A219313

Give her the 50 bucks.( either cash or gift card) That is what I would rather have than some white elephant waste of money.

Gift cards!

Gift cards for food, movie tickets, you name it.

Also, lottery tickets is an idea!

Also, gift certificates to the local mall for $50 is always appreciated.

Its not just a "HER" - our family has about 16 people in it - all adults - so instead of trying to bring a gift for everyone or leaving someone out, everyone just brings 1 nice gift that could go to anyone, then we exchange and sometimes exchange again, it's fun - everyone end up with something they would want :)

Another idea: Fondue set.

I think $50 in lottery tickets would be a great idea! Who wouldn't want that?

I'm thinking gift cards may be the way to go.... that way they get the TRUE amount but I thought an unusaul cool gift would be fun too

Nunu4u, thanks for the idea! I just placed an order for the mat and can't wait to try it. My back has been killing me and I hope this is the cure for it.

Lucky Duck, I don't have back problems but when I read through the reviews from the various mats, I saw others got relief. Hope you do too! I was interested in the reduction in cortisol after using it. We should check in with each other after we start to use it!

nunu and Lucky Duck...

I'm giving this mat a try, too! Never heard of it but my neck and head have been aching for a bit now and my bf always has back pain, plus it may have other benefits, too? Shoot, I figure for $20, why not? Please, when you get yours, post a thread/review about your experience. And nunu, thank you for the info on it! Smile

Good to see you are in, starling! I should get mine on Wednesday since I have a free trial prime membership going right now. But the mat ships free for everyone I think.

I'm going to try the mat too! My husband and I both suffer from back pain pretty regularly. I look forward to trying it!!

I always thought a white elephant gift was some item that you had at home that you wanted to get rid of- not one you would purchase.

I would love to get a Christmas bad with 25 $2.00 scratch off Lotto Tickets in it! They always have Christmas ones too. If not that, a gift certificate to Red Lobster or another popular eatery. Or to a store like Macy's. $50 would go a long way on after Christmas sale items......

I also thought that White Elephant gifts are something from your home that you already have.

$50.00?? I want to come to that party--the ones I go to usually have a $5.00 limit! That being said, a gift card, perhaps for dinner is a great gift for anyone. Have fun!

This mat interests me. I would appreciate hearing some reviews if anyone decides to purchase. Also, does anyone know if this is available in any stores? Sometimes I prefer to shop in a store as opposed to shopping online.

Stargazer, I will post my review and some others on this thread said they would too. You can read many reviews on amazon if you type in "accupressure mat." I ordered today and its shipped already! I should get it on Tuesday!

Maybe a yoga shop would have one?

That's what it used to be, but it's all changed now.

I wouldn't want an acupressure mat. I'd rather have the lottery tickets.

How about a fruitcake? Some people like fruitcake, and Williams-Sonoma has good ones, or Collin Street Bakery in Texas.

An inflatable "person" for the passenger seat. (I have a girlfriend who got a store mannequin and dressed it up in a hat and overcoat.)
