Dr Oz - Skin Age Test

Started 1317847787.007 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1318045137.25 by PurpleBunny

Did anyone go on-line and take his skin age test from today's show (10/5)? I just did and it scored me at 40 years of age. Now, I'm 54 and although I'm flattered, there ain't no way that someone would mistake me for 40.

Curious as to what you all scored -

Pats - or my new name - I may look 54 but my skin is really 40 {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Wow I just came out with a "score" almost 20 years younger, I "scored" 37 and I will be 57 next Feb, wtg ellen {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Decided to change up my SN a bit, and maybe this is a bit clearer :)

I did a test a while ago that was similar to this & scored 20 years younger, so I didn't do this one again, other than the eye-pinch test. Wow!! My skin came back instantaneously!! It pays to treat your eye area!

I scored 55 and I am 55. However, I found the questions kind of confusing. For instance, it asked if I had fine lines vertically on my cheeks. Well, only when I smile big. So is that a yes or no? It asked if I had red dots? Huh? Do they mean zits? I put yes because I'm acne prone, but I don't think that has to do with age. Do I have bags under eyes? Well, I put yes, but only a small one under one because of allergies. I am never good at tests! LOL

I do feel like I'm looking my age though, which isn't such a good thing! People have quit saying "I can't believe you're really ____ (enter age)".

I"m mid-40s, scored 30. I am happy with my skin but I have been taking care of it forever.

Dr Oz said he scored a 41, he is 51 years old. He does have nice skin.

I just took the test and my skin is supposedly 21 years younger than I am. I could see it saying maybe 5 years younger but not 21. Then below the results it said for my age not to use abrasive cleaners any more and I had just finished using the Philosphy microdelivery peel. And after that it said to consider fillers or botox since I said I had slight "11's". I'm kind of surprised Dr. Oz would advise that.

Well it looks like all of the info on this board has paid off for us, LOL! I agree Mima, that some of the questions were vague. I kept on running to the mirror to check if I were somewhat or a lot. I think for me, it's the fact that since I was 23 or so I have always worn sunscreen and a hat, and if I'm at the beach, you will find me under an umbrella. I didn't do this for anti-aging, it's because I never got tan, only blotchy and silly looking, so I decided I looked better pale. Who knew I was setting the trend? I used to look like a baluga whale next to all these tanned beauties, nowadays I blend in. HaHaHa!

I baked in the sun until I was maybe 18. After I got married, got a job, had kids I didn't have time for the sun. LOL Oh, I do remember being in a tanning booth ONE summer out of 55. But to be honest, I have worn sunscreen nearly every day since I was about 25 and I am 55.

I feel bad that my test didn't come out good, however I may have been too hard on myself when answering the questions. At least I don't have jowls yet but I know they'll be coming anytime soon! LOL

I use skincare also, but obviously it isn't working for me. OK, I am not opening this thread anymore. I am getting depressed. To be honest, I "try" to use antiaging stuff but most of it makes me break out. No ones fault. I will just deal with it.

I am 63 and they said I had 36 year old skin (I wish). With all the time and money we put into our skin products that score sounds right (smile). My skin is good but my neck gives my age away - wish they could come up with something other than surgery.

it is a gimmick, IMO

I don't think this skin test is very scientific. How are they calculating the answers? How many years are added/subtracted for answering a certain way? Each person who takes this quiz is answering the questions according to her own visual observations. Someone else may look at us and answer differently. The data would be more reliable if one independent researcher observed ALL the women.

IMO skin looking 20 years younger than your real age is a bit far fetched. I am not trying to burst anyone's bubble or criticize anyone's answers. I'm sure some of you have nice skin. I just think that the results of this test and others like it may not be reliable.

Hmmmm, I think this is subject to how you view yourself and a lot of people seem to be in denial about things and don't really see themselves in a brutally honest light. I do think it is possible to look younger than you are but I also think that a lot of people seem to think they look like 30 somethings when they are in thier 50's and aren't fooling anyone.

Your skin being younger, and whether or not you THINK you look younger are two different things IMO.

Exactly! I know I am no "spring chicken". But I do know that I have taken care of my skin and it shows. My skin looks much better than others my age. That does not mean I think I look younger. It just means that my skin looks good for its age!

I know too much to go back an' pretend.

I'm 53, my skin's age is 37. Cool! (And no, I do not think I look 37.)

I'm 60 and I scored skin age of 42. I don't feel it was probing enough. I don't have wrinkles, but have some sagging and my throat isn't that great. While it's flattering to get that score, it's not an accurate picture.

This test is definitely dependent upon your view of yourself. I read about a study a while back (don't remember what it was called) that concluded that most women think they look younger than other people think they do. I think wrinkles and sagging are like most other things, the longer we look at them, the less we really see them. They become kind of an ignored "fixture" on our faces. I think the real test would be to get a picture of yourself (closeup) at about 20 and compare it in detail to a closeup of you now with no makeup. Then you'd be able to really see where the sagging and lines are and how much your facial shape/structure has changed.

I, like most who take it I would guess, came out supposedly with younger skin than my age. I think in truth that I look my age but I look healthy. That's all that counts.

Oh, and of course not a line or wrinkle due to that wonderful LAVENDER oil....{#emotions_dlg.lol}

All right everybody, we have to cheer Mima up. Mima, you must have answered one or two of the test questions too harshly. We know that the test is faulty. If I looked 20 years younger, you all better look up all of my posts so you can hurry out and purchase everything I use. Besides, maybe we all lied and you were the only truthful poster here!

You are as young as you feel Wink!

Oh, sweetpea, you must really be thinking about that. I didn't realize . . . Thanks for the attention! Wink

Absolutely! And I actually wouldn't want to feel/look too young. i've worked too hard to gain the knowledge, wisdom, and experiences that I have at this age! Looking healthy is so much more important.
