Lacura Lipstick (from Aldi)

Has anyone tried the Lacura lipstick from Aldi, specifically the Red Velvet or Deep Red colors? They don't have testers, so you can't see how it looks. I just bought the color Truffle, thinking it was a mocha, but it is more like a frosty plum.

I often use Aldi beauty products; however, I haven't tried the lip colors you mentioned...but...I do like everything I purchase...good luck...for the price...you might try them all...then mix them with something else to soften or lighten the color.

I bought both of these today out of curiousity and this is the time of year I start buying more red lipsticks.......I am really impressed! The Red Velvet (301) is what I'm wearing now and I love it! It's more of a burgundy/ruby red color.........it actually seems to glow and is gorgeous. I have had it on for hours w/o a liner and it hasn't feathered at all which annoys me with darker lipsticks. The Deep Red (402)--is more of a brownish red, reminds me of Ramy Red which is one of my favorite reds and they don't have it on QVC anymore........they are both very nice. And you can't beat 2 lipsticks for $7.00. Very moisturizing too.........Neither of them are orangey or a tomato red, they are deeper reds. Hope this helps!

forgot to add; beautiful packaging too......kind of a silver/gunmetal heavy case. I still can't believe the price for the quality. It is annoying though to have to buy w/o seeing the colors........

I think the Aldi lipstick is wonderful, but my store only carries very very dark or very very light. The Aldi gloss, in the bottle with the lip brush and the silver cap, is the best brush on gloss I know of, if you can use the colors. I love to use the Burts Bees lip tint stick with Aldi gloss, and it lasts quite a while. Good products.

I just looked at the colors at the Aldi site (no stores here). I'm really surprised that they don't have a soft pink in the collection....it's REALLY limited! I was interested in them, but I don't think there's even one color I can wear.

so I also tried the deep red on..........loved it too. It's more of a coppery burnished red look......(has that same "glow" as the Red Velvet)--if you really pile it on it's pretty dark; looks better lightly applied (on me). It seems a little less moisturizing than the Red Velvet but I love them both.

Stock up if you love it! When I emailed them about the line I recieved this in reply:

Thank you for your recent letter regarding our various Lacura products. We always appreciate hearing from our customers.

Like any retailer, we only sell the items that perform well. Unfortunately, alot of these items did not sell well enough for us to continue stocking; therefore, they have been discontinued. However, our 3 in 1 Facial Cleansers; Men's Hair & Body Wash and Day/Night Creams are still apart of our Lacura line. All of which should be back in the stores shortly.

As for the other Lacura items no longer available, we will continue to monitor competitor sales of similar items, and should they increase, we will consider adding this item back into our product line.

Again, thank you for writing and for your continued patronage.

Be kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

Thanks so much for your review, mollycat! That sounds gorgeous. I like darker lip colors.

Mary Bailey, thanks for the info. I am going to head there tonight to stock up. You can't beat the price!

I was reading reviews on the coral shade, and almost everyone said it wasn't coral at all but a subtle brownish pink. You might try that.

I really like the Lacura nail polish. I bought the pale shade which is a frosty beige. It lasts a full 2 weeks before chipping.

I also love the volumizing mascara, the blush, and the transparent foundation. I have all the eye shadows except for the rose one.

Mary Bailey is right, stock up on things while you can.

Here are the Lacura lipstick shades.

I believe the colors are (from left to right) cool sand, deep red, coral, truffle, and red velvet.

i just picked up #301 red velvet and #402 deep red. sadly, i had one other red color in my pile to purchase and accidentally bought two red velvets.

i like the look and feel of this lipstick. i only put it on to try it before i went to bed, so i don't know how well they wear.

i also bought a volumizing mascara to try.
