How often do you apply body lotion?

Today's TSV is almost tempting except I can never make myself apply body lotion. It's such a chore for me and I don't know why but I hate doing it. Do you use body lotion?

I use body lotion every single day after my shower. The Philosophy lotions are outstanding to me. They feel light going on yet they really moisturize all day long. My favorite is Pure Grace and I've been getting the 32 oz shower cream & lotion on AD for three years. It smells so fresh and clean. My husband and kids love it too.

Always end the day with a positive thought. No matter how hard things were, tomorrow's a fresh opportunity to make it better.

I go in spurts. I am currently loving philosophy Papaya passion lotion so it is easy for me to apply it. In the winter, I am pretty much forced to apply it my skin gets so dry. But yes, I understand entirely what you are talking about.

I know too much to go back an' pretend.

Not as much as I should. In the winter I always have to have hubby put it on my back. I think if I did not take Omega 3 fish oil I would have to put it on daily or I would be so dry. I don't like the way it feels in the summer especially when it's hot like today. It's now 111°. When I do use lotion I prefer non-scented.

I didn't always; but now I apply morning and night. I use different loitions/creams morning and night and different ones depending on the season. I live in a hot dry summer climate and need a light moisturizes for day use and am currently experimenting with what will work best. At night I have been using coconut oil and it's ok but will move on to another heavy cream when I am done with this jar. I do find that fragranced creams/loitions are not always moisturizing enough. I find I spend more time preping my face/body/hair than I do actually blow drying and putting on make-up, but all worth the effort.

Every morning after I get out of the shower. I use Eucerin it lasts all day, and doesn't have a fragrance.

I use a lotion everyday after my shower/bath, been doing this almost all my adult life.

For the past few years I've been using Amazing Grace. It seems to go with any perfume I wear. It's a staple sitting on my bathroom counter. On those rare days I don't use AG, I'll use something else that I've got sitting around (Bath Body Works lotions, etc.)

For the most part tho, it's been Amazing Grace.

I tried being patient but it took too long.

After every shower. It only takes five minutes. My skin is way too dry not to use a body lotion after every shower. I don't feel I'm done until I have applied it (in my case, Pure Grace).

My skin is too dry without body lotion every day or at least every other day. But I'm a Lather girl and use their bamboo lemongrass scrub first and then moisturizer. That really makes the difference for me and I have super soft, smooth skin!

I use it every morning after my shower while my skin is still dampish. I kind of rotate between Philosophy lotions, body butters (Delon+ Olive is a fave) & unscented Cetaphil cream mixed with a little Neutrogena sesame body oil for scent & added moisture. I used far less before i moved to the arid climate in AZ. I also use squalane oil on my face from Garden Of Wisdom AM & PM after cleansing & love it.

5 Minutes? Really? Why? For me, 1 minute at the most.

I use lotion every morning after my shower and at night before I go to bed. I love Philosophy and the 32 oz lotions are wonderful. Easy to pump, only takes 2 minutes to lotion up. Keeps your skin soft.

I guess I'm fortunate that I only need to use body lotion between December and February, when my skin dries out from the cold. All year, however, I moisturize my face and neck nightly. I love the Aveeno line -- really sinks in and most importantly, NO fragrance. I can't stand smelling fragrance on myself all day and I'm not to fond of smelling fragrances on other people either.

I use body lotion at night after my bath and in the morning before I get dressed. Love those 32oz sizes of FIL, UL, and PG:)

OMG. I'm very diciplined about my lotions/creams. Every single day. Dry skin is so aging.

Let me know if you suddenly become interesting.

Agreed! My derm says it is one of the most common mistakes for women not to do. It helps to keep skin supple and youthful.

DUH....WENing! :)

Well . . . it may be TMI, but I have both RA and osteoporosis, I am 73 and I move very slowly. I still think five minutes is pretty fast.

I use body lotion every day twice a day because I take a shower twice a day. I use different ones some philosophy some Jergens and so on. I am African American and as a generalization our skin tends to be drier. I was brought up that way so for me it's like brushing your teeth.

I always follow a shower with complete application of body lotion.

I do not like to put it on if I haven't showered though....by this I mean if I don't take 2 showers a day than I don't lotion 2x a day...just don't like putting lotion on skin that is not freshly showered. My skin is not on the dry side so I could foresake it but for me it is part of the luxury of a showering experience.

You make a very good point....not every one is thirty and/or healthy. I have to exfoliate and cream my mom all the time when I help her shower as she is a 73 year old diabetic with stenosis of the spine and osteoporosis and can barely dry her body off but diabetes causes extra dryness of skin and even though I give it my best shot you can barely tell I used an exfoliating product on her legs. Plus she hates being touched...too painful from the nerve damage caused by the diabetes.

You are a good daughter. God Bless You for helping your mother. I hope you are doing nice things for yourself. Take care.
