Hi All!

Remember MAXFACTOR? I used to love his stick foundations, I know I can get them at the drugstore dot com site, but they are no longer carried at my local Walgreens, CVS or RiteAid. I wonder why? I think SMASHBOX is a branch of the MAXFACTOR line, but I loved the cosmetics that were in you local drugstore. Any idea what happened?

I may be wrong, but I think Max Factor was bought out years ago by Procter and Gamble, makers of Cover Girl. The grandsons to Max own Smashbox.

I think they are now NY Cosmetics now, but I am not sure. I noticed that a particular Max Factor make-up my daughter uses is now being sold under another name...same stuff.

As far as I know, they are no longer being sold in the US.

Hi! Now that I think about it, you're right! That's sounds correct. I remember the grandson of Max Factor owning some cosmetic line. Further, wasn't he convicted on some kind of felony charge or something. Anyway, thanks for your comment about this. Take care.

Hello Ladies!

Thanks for your replies. Yes, Maxfactor can be ordered on line. I was just wondering why they discontinued them in your local drug store. Thanks though for the link. I always thought they were trying to market themselves like the MAC cosmetics. They changed to a black packaging and their advertisements looked somewhat like MAC. To tell you the truth their stick foundation at $8.99 is BETTER than MAC in my humble opinion. I think MACs stick foundations are $26.

I don't think the guy that went to jail had anything to do with any of the cosmetics companies. Anyone know for sure? But I'm sure that publicity didn't do them any good.

Andrew Lustre had absolutely NOTHING to do with Max Factor.
