soma vanishing edge I think is what it is called. front & back closure. I like the front, the back closure one- I can't keep up the straps. But love the bras

Soma has their own retail shops and a website, but they don't recommend buying off the website without being "fitted" in one of their shops first since the sizes run a bit off from standard sizes. I didnt even know we had a Soma shop and just happened to come across it back in December. They have excellent customer service. Got BOGO on the vanishing edge, back closure bras- they are very lightweight and comfortable. I think they are around $40.00

47, very fair, blonde, green eyes, cool "summer" coloring. Combination/sensitive skin. Vegetarian

I have never tried the Soma brand, but Lane Bryant has a "back smoothing" bra I like very much.

I would like to be fitted - some bras run small/large. I will look into a soma store around me.

Thanks

definitely look for a store and a fitting. Nothing Soma fits me well and gives me lift. I need a far more supportive bra than any of theirs. Hope you have good luck because their wares do look good.

Thank you for asking this question and thank you for the responses. Sounds like Soma is a winner.

I have a couple drawers full of Soma bras/undies/cami's. You really must be fit by a Soma Associate. Previously I wore VS - but they NEVER fit me correctly. i"m a small band size and a D cup so hard to fit, but the Soma's fit me well. Can't attest to the back-fat bra's they don't come in my band/cup and I don't have that particular issue. I do like their service and items. WE have several stores near-by :) You always get coupons from them in the mail with catalog! Of course I go spend $200-300 in undies then!

If you do purchase from them, try on and were for a couple of hours to be sure you like it, because they will return NOTHING without tags. One thing I LOVE about Nordstrom, but they don't carry Soma bras.

My daughter is a larger size...DD like you, and she wears Olga Christine bras - she gets hers from Macy's. Wider straps going around you, smooth over any issues you may have.

I'm going to try the Soma. I have a terrible time finding a comfortable bra. Most of them I've tried, the band doesn't fit well. It's like there is too much of a decrease in the length of the band at the bottom, so it feels loose right under the armpit area and digs into me at the bottom of the band. Anyone else have that problem? If so, what brand do you wear?

Ladies I also am a tough fit. Larger breasted with a spare tire almost bigger than the girls. There is a brand called Wacoal, very good bras, but fairly expensive, $55.00 and up, but when you get ones that fit, you can't even feel the bra. There is also a catalogue called Lady Grace that carries almost every bra on the market. All styles, brands, and prices. I also have found that by wearing a high-back body shaper, the kind that keeps your frontal bra area uncovered, really helps with back-fat. I buy mine at Hane-Leggs-Bali outlet and they are very reasonably priced, about 1/3 the price of Spanx.

bootsanne ~ You must be my twin sister! Thank you soooo much for the Lady Grace website. I have a back smoother and am always looking for more comfort. Is Hane-Leggs-Bali on the web? TIA

Cookie5, try the Just My Size web site. It is also Hanes-Leggs Bali, but with plus sizes. Also Woman Within has a shaper, #17-27461-944, that is only $29.99. Call 1-800-248-2000

I really like le mystere - I tried one out when they were the latest "Oprah thing" and have since bought a couple more. I wear a 38D and can have problems with rolls in the back close to the armpit - but not with this bra! My favorite is the Dream Tisha with lace (which for some reason fits very differently on me than the same model without lace - go figure...

I love the Soma Vanishing too. I prefer the one that hooks on the back but they are both great. Thank to the original poster who suggested these. I apologize that I don't remember who that was. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Just received my Soma Vanishing Back with the front closure. I don't want to appear to be dumb, but I cannot figure out how to hook this thing! Anyone out there wear the front closure version?

I think buying bras are the least fun thing! Between them and jeans.

Dont worry I have seen guys with back fat too. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I so agree!!!! I once had the zipper replaced three times on a pair of jeans because I kept breaking the zipper and it was less painful going to the taylor to have them fixed than to go out and get a new pair!!! And you forgot bathing suits!!!!!
