Lacura Skin Care from Aldi's

Started 1303588848.177 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1303913118.44 by JoElla

I was at the Aldi's and it seems everytime I go there, they have less and less of their Lacura skin care line. They don't seem to be getting in any new inventory. I really need their serum. Anyone else have luck finding the serum?

I went searching about a month ago. No serum and no neck cream; stock was pretty low!

I know too much to go back an' pretend.

Ask one of the people that work there or the Manager. My store is good about restocking skin care items, they just sell out quickly.

Check E-Bay - I've seen the items there many times.

Just curious b/c I have heard so many good things about the serum... does it have a perfumey smell? Thanks for your help.

PS I have tried almost all of the line, but just can't take the pretty, but far to strong smell of them. : (

My Aldi's carries the serum all the time. I think I've never gone in without seeing the shelf fully stocked.

With that being said, I'm pretty much over the Lacura skin-care line. I used to be a huge fan, but as soon as I use up the supply I have (which I now use mostly on my feet), I'm moving on to something better. The face creams are too heavily fragranced, most of them have poor packaging (jars), and IF something contains SPF (which is rare), the level isn't noted so you never really know what you're putting on your face. 15, 30, 8? That's something I need to know. The biggest factor for me, though, is that everything pills. Not a good look if you want to wear primer and/or foundation on top of it.

ITA about the fragrance. I don't know about the serum, I haven't used it, but the neck cream is so heavily lemon fragranced that I can't see using it on my face or neck, so I'm using it as a body cream only. I am not sensitive to fragrances, on some products I don't notice any fragrance at all when posters complain about it--but the neck cream smells like Lemon Pledge.

I picked up more from an Aldi's in Europe where the humidity was drying out my combo skin. I very much like the day cream, haven't ever been able to try the serum. I found the night cream to be too much, and have switched to Alpha Hydrox. The fragrance is strong, but for the price I think it does the trick. I put on sunscreen first, then mix the daycream with foundation to make a tinted moisturizer and that works for me.

I love the neck cream. To me it is not a Lemon Pledge scent, but more like an orange creamsicle, I find it very therapeutic, like aromatherapy.

I love their face creams. I have not seen any neck cream at my Aldi's or anything with SPF. What are they called? I would love to find a Lacura day cream with SPF. I have not used their serums but might need to try them. Thanks for the post.

I agree, love the scent! It's very light IMO, and does not linger. I really like the serums, also, but sadly don't find them often. Thank goodness for my stash!

The neck creams come out once or twice a year. I bought one last Spring (2010) and it's barely used. Some of the day face creams have SPF, it was one that included Q10, don't remember what it was called. I actually liked that one, it had no fragrance, but I just didn't know the SPF level.

My local Aldis is the same way. Outside of the tonor, eye cream and lip balm, the skin care is just...gone.

Yeah, FINALLY!!!!! Run Trey, run!

I've used this product on and off - it is hard to find and I think that's why it's off and on. Most of the time I can't use it because I can't find it. LOL.

Does anyone know if these items are sold under their name or does someone else make them? Hope this makes sense.

I went into Aldi's at the beginning of this month to specifically ask when the neck cream would be available. One of the workers asked the manager when it would be stocked. Their answer was that they did not have a specific date, but they said it would be advertised in their weekly sales flyer.

At times, I use their eye gel, reviatlizing eye cream, hydrating day gel-cream, used to use their Q10 night cream (sometimes use down the neck area). I really do not notice a lot of scent, if so it dissipates rather rapildy.

Has anyone purchased the neck cream this Spring? I have checked the online information and have come up with no success about the neck cream.

Edited to correct horrible spelling errors

I think the scents are light. They don't bother me a bit.

I went into my nearby Aldi's about 2 weeks ago hoping to score the neck cream. There was no neck cream so I picked up some moisturizers. When I was checking out, the cashier and I started talking about the Lacura line and she said she's heard talks that Aldi might stop carrying Lacura. We might want to stock up now.

I haven't been in my store recently but would be disappointed if they stop carrying Lacura altogether. I like one of their masks and the lip balm is nice and a very good value.

Over a month ago (maybe 6 wks) someone posted they found the neck cream at their store. I haven't seen it but I've only checked in one store. When I go in, I'll ask and see if they have any info about the line.

Poor but Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm near at least 5 stores and I've noticed the stock dwindling at all of them! I especially like the night cremes.

I went to Aldi's website & emailed CS asking them not to discontinue the line.

I was in Aldi yesterday looking for the neck cream. No neck cream, no serum, and all the other Lacura products were very low.

The neck cream was released in my area the week of April 25 last year. I wanted to be sure I would get some this year. No luck......I got the flyer for next week and no neck cream either.

I fear for them discontinuing the Lacura line. Oh No!!!!!!!!!

I was in Aldi last weekend and the only skincare products left on the shelves were the toner and eye cream. There was nothing else at all and this store never did get in the neck cream. The signs were still up for the other products but they were all marked down so I assumed they weren't going to carry the line anymore although I didn't ask. They had a lot of the color cosmetics.

I am using both the Q10 creams, day and night. I don't notice any really heavy scent with them but I had decided they weren't something I would repurchase either.

here is Aldi's reply:

Thank you for your recent letter regarding our various Lacura products. We always appreciate hearing from our customers.

Like any retailer, we only sell the items that perform well. Unfortunately, alot of these items did not sell well enough for us to continue stocking; therefore, they have been discontinued. However, our 3 in 1 Facial Cleansers; Men's Hair & Body Wash and Day/Night Creams are still apart of our Lacura line. All of which should be back in the stores shortly.

As for the other Lacura items no longer available, we will continue to monitor competitor sales of similar items, and should they increase, we will consider adding this item back into our product line.

Again, thank you for writing and for your continued patronage.

Be kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

I thought something might be going on. I've been able to get the day/night creams, but that's about all I see anymore. It figures....just when we find something inexpensive that really works.

But at least the creams save us a lot of $$$
