Disposable contact lenses, $8.88 a box

You need to buy two boxes of these, but shipping is free and no tax. Ron Hamilton, the man who invented disposable lenses, was disappointed by Bausch and Lombs high price and started his own company after his five year non compete was up.

These are sent from England, made in Scotland. Money back guarantee. I bought two boxes and find them very comfortable. The other thing I like is they have uva protection. I don't like to wear sunglasses, so this is a good option for me. Good for "normal" prescriptions, not the ones for astigmatism. This site does not require proof of prescription.

thanks nunu, i will check into them for my daughter.

we just bought a years worth of contact lenses, with an extra month free, contact lens solution, a storage container, AND a rebate..... it cost 155.00 BEFORE the rebate, so it is really not that much more expensive than this website. we bought ours at FOR EYES.

Thank you so much. We have three in this house that wear them.

For Eyes...cute name sunshine45! I checked and a box of disposables there is $32 for 30. The company I just bought from is $8.88 for a box of 32. I can see why Ron is disappointed in the price...since he is making a profit at less than one third the cost!

Have you actually gotten your contacts yet? When I tried to order these I got a bad feeling on the payment page and I order online all the time!

Thanks I tried to order but I only wear 1 contact because it wouldn't let me order just 1 contact. I e-Mailed them so I will se what they say when I get a reply. 2 boxes last me a long time so I hope I am able to order. Thanks for the information. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

it is a cute name for a store!....sorry nunu...... i was comparing a different version. my daughter buys the ones where a single pair lasts for a month.... so those were the ones i was pricing! we ordered them in the store about two weeks ago and they arrived in two days.

I buy Acuvue daily wear lenses at Costco (because I found them the cheapest) but I noticed the price went up (nearly 35%!) last time I ordered a few months ago. These are definitely MUCH cheaper but I'm a little hesitant ordering from a company in England and website I am unfamilar with. It's probably fine, and I may order from them later, so thanks for the info because I would never have heard of them otherwise!! If anyone else has ordered from them please let us know.

Becca33, yes, I have had my contacts for about a month. I waited some time before recommending them. I thought the order process was easy, I got notifications even an e-mail after I got them asking if I was satisfied. It took about two weeks to get them. This is the first time I have had disposables, its an odd feeling to throw them out!

Very interesting, nunu. Thanks for posting. I wear Acuvue Oasys, but have always been interested in the daily ones. They're just too expensive compared to the 2 week versions. nunu, can I ask what contacts you've worn before? If anyone purchases please report back to let us know how they are.

I wore Bausch and Lomb Pure Vision soft lenses. No problem with these, I was satisfied.

Hi Nunu,

I am very interested in ordering from this website. Both my sister and I need new contacts AND new eyeglasses, and I particularly like that we don't have to have proof of prescription. Her prescription is about 3 years old and mine is 2 years old, so we have had a problem in ordering from 1800Contacts, because they want a current prescription (less than a year old, I think).

Has anyone ordered eyeglasses from this site? Please keep the replies coming about this website, and I will be waiting to hear if others had a smooth ordering process! Thanks again, Nunu!

Thanks a lot, NN.

I stopped wearing contacts a few years ago, as I was unable to afford them. It would be nice to be able to switch from my eyeglasses sometimes, so I will be sure to research this company first, and then check them out. Wondering if they make the daily disposable ones, as they're what I should be wearing now, for health reasons.

Hope you are feeling and doing well.

Bru

I am not dissing anyone here but I would be afraid to use contacts from a company I know nothing about. I have been wearing two week disposables for years and always use Acuvue Oasys. I get a reasonable price for them at Walgreens online. Your eyes are too important to take a risk just to save a little money.

Thanks. I will definitely look at this company when I need to reorder. :)

I would be very hesitant to buy a "substitute" for the lens I was wearing--these are not just discounted versions of the actual lens you are wearing. When you are fitted for contact lenses, the optometrist or ophthalmologist checks to see if the lens fits your eye properly. One lens does not fit like another. I can understand that the cost is a barrier--particular for disposable lenses which are the most costly. But, I personally would not risk the impact to my eye if the lens did not fit me properly. It is not ordering from England that is an issue, but more that I wouldn't feel comfortable if my eye care provider had not checked out the fit. I am just very conservative on these matters.

This isn't a substitute for my current lenses. Its an upgrade from soft lenses to daily, produced by the man who invented daily lenses. I listened to the argument that dailies were safer and saw the point. Somewhere on the site they give dimensions of the lenses..I forget the term, but it means diameter. You can check that out if you want to compare against your prescription. Or can have your doctor check the fit once you get them.

You are so right. When I am ready, I might email my eye care provider and see if he knows anything about these. I would also probably wait until I was close to a visit and let him check them on me to see if he felt these fit properly. If not, it looks like they can be returned within a 7 day period.

There are LOTS of reasons why you need a current prescription to order contact lenses- and TOO MANY possible bad outcomes from wearing the wrong lenses.

Contact lenses are now made of many different materials, and have different sizes in TWO dimensions- both diameter and curvature.

Wearing "unknown" or "generic" contact lenses, or even wearing contact lenses without routine check-ups, is asking for corneal problems, corneal damage and potential blindness.

Is saving money really worth risking your sight for?

Who is saying to order without a prescription? You need your stats to place an order. I get a prescription and usually place an order with Costco. Now I placed an order with this company. There are a variety of online stores available to place orders with. If ordering from the man who invented soft lenses, in England, freaks you out, move on to a local store.

Thanks again for posting and I wear the same brand as you but I only wear one so I E-Mailed them and they got my answer back to me today and I ordered after they answered my question. I don't wear mine everyday since retirement so 2 boxes will last me quite a while. I still have some of my monthly left so I'm good to go for a while. Never tried the daily so I will be anxious to try them. Was pleased to get an answer so soon. Makes me think they have good CS. Smile

Has anyone ever ordered from 1-800-contacts? If so, do you get a better price?
