WARNING! credit card and All Day Chemist

Started 1298586413.22 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1298734466.673 by smhr66

On my second order I decided to use a Visa that I haven't used in awhile. I received my order quickly. Then I got the dreaded security call about the card. Someone had made 3 small purchases that were suspicious and a hold was put on my account. Now my card is cancelled and I will be getting a new number. The ADC order was the last purchase in a long time, so obviously this is where the fraud came from. It may not be someone from ADC, but I sure won't use a credit card if I order from them again.

Where were the charges - international or in the US?

Jayro1298586776.5631911 PostsRegistered 11/29/2008

It happened to me, too, with ADC. Unauthorized charges on my VISA as well as my e-mail being hacked.

Posters here recommended that next time I use a one-time pre-loaded VISA just for that purchase and call in my order. That's what I plan on doing.

The charges were made in the US. One was from Bloomfield, South Dakota. I'll definitely use a money order instead.

Why purchase from ADC if this is happening? What do you buy from this place?

So if the charges are from the US how can that be from buying from alldaychemist?....I guess i could understand if they were charges from India.

EXACTLY @!!!

Credit card fraud can happen antwhere, anytime. Just because you recently made a purchase somewhere does not mean that company was the culprit.

This is the same type of accusations that were made about Medsmex.

Unless your bank can tell you for sure that the fraud was based in India and came from ADC I highly doubt ADC had anything to do with it.

Please learn more about credit card fraud. You do not have to ever use your card to have fraudulent charges made on it. Google is your friend.

By any chance was your card an RDS creditcard? Does it have a ))) on the back of the card? That;s an RFID smart card. They are very easy to steal personal informaton from without the owner ever having used the card.

My husband had a new credit card he had never even used yet and that card experienced fraudulent charges before he ever used it anywhere.

Again, you do not need to use your card at any retailer to have someone get your info. There are many other ways to obtain that info from people who make their living from fraud.

She is right...I have had my original card for years with not a problem. I made my first order to All Day Chemist a week ago...My card is now restricted someone was trying to buy 582.60 and 335.68 dollars worth of clothing from a place called Papaya. Thank goodness the card didn't allow the transaction to go through. The first charge was for 1.48 to a place called Thank you Tom from Richmond VA and then they tried to go to town using the card. Somehow the card department knew about these places and stopped the transactions. I called All Day Chemist and they told me several calls have come in with this complaint and that they were going to have something taken care of by Monday.

Just be careful, it is a total hassel contacting places about cancelled card.

My card is not a RFID card and I keep it locked in my safe at home. I rarely use it. It's pretty obvious that the problem ocurred with the order; whether by someone that works at ADC, security on their website, etc.

I ordered generic retin A (Renactyl) from Pharmamundi (thanks to someone this board who posted it) because the transaction was through PayPal which I think is safer than a credit card to a vendor.

It sounds like maybe they don't use a secure server, which would give hackers easy access to their customer information.

I used a Visa and got a call from a bank to make sure the charges were legit...as they were everything turned out fine.

Sorry you had trouble. DOn't give up on them. Call and report to ADC.

I just received an order last week. Always use AMEX with no problems.

Credit card fraud can happen anytime, anywhere with any company. This happened to me when purchasing from Fancl online. Someone ( presume insider with the company ) made a small purchase ( $12.00 ) on the Visa credit card. We contacted Visa and explained that wasn't a purchase made from us. I also contacted Fancl and made the company aware of our suspicions, and the possibility an employee "might" had used an opportunity to make a purchase. I've ordered from them 3 times since that incident with no problems. If the problem had persisted, I wouldn't had ordered anymore.

Every website should do like eBay and its new policy for buyers. It's has gotten to the point, I can barely access my own credit card much less a thief. It has cracked down on credit card theft - now "requiring" a new pin number and "making" you change your paypal password a real hassle.

Wow! I was hoping it was just me. I placed an order 2 weeks ago and just got my notice that my order is in at the Post Office. Last Friday I was notified that my card was compromised and they locked it. Someone tried to buy over $900.00 in computer equipment with it. I'm waiting for my new PIN number as my new card arrived yesterday.

ADC obviously has a problem in their system if this is happening. Next time I'll use a money order.
