Need help with sagging skin from weight loss on my face and neck...

Started 1295807066 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1295813715.75 by gonnab

While I am thrilled about losing 40 lbs, I am concened at what my face and neck are starting to look like. I know the best answer is probably a face lift, but that just is not going to happen. I also still have a way to go with weight loss and am worried about how I am going to handle the saggy jowls and chicken neck. Any ideas??

Sorry to say, but the reality is surgery. Nothing else is going to lift the muscle and foundation of your sagging.

Go talk to a MD and see what they suggest. Good luck.

Sorry, nothing works except plastic surgery.

You have two choices....get used to it or have plastic surgery. I speak from experience. (I got used to it.)

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and he no longer votes democratic.......I don't know, I heard it somewhere.

I gained and lost about 20 pounds in my mid-40's and it left me very jowly, with a turkey neck. Very, very aging. I searched around for the best plastic surgeon in the area who did before/after pics. Had a neck lift done and it turned out AMAZING. The ACTUAL after picture looks exactly like his projected after pic. I could not be more pleased. It actually turned out to be more like a lower face lift as well. It is now almost ten years later, and the effects are still there.

Do your homework first if you are thinking about it. And make sure you go to someone who is a board certified plastic surgeon.

People seldom change.
They just get better at what they do.

Start saving !!!!! And keep losing !!! Your health matters more than your appearance but we all know that it feels great whan you feel good about how you look as well as how well you feel.

ITA. I've lost 60 pounds (not quickly) and it has wreaked absolute havoc on my face and neck, but I'd rather be healthy.

Yeah, I pretty much thought that would be the response. True my health is my priority, which is why I am going forward. But I just thought maybe someone here had a magical beauty secret to share.

Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your day!

I haven't tried these but saw them demonstrated and heard they are used in Hollywood for the instant effect. Might get you through til you go for something more permanent.

If you are older- yes a face lift is probably the answer.

Looks interesting - for $15 might even give it a try!

age 79, sensitive/combo skin, few fine lines, lack of firmness especially to cheeks, short natural (never colored) grey hair, brown eyes
