African Black Soap - Where to buy

Started 1293759345.633 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1293811981.29 by BooBoo2

I have read several post about African Black Soap and

I would like to try it. I asked at Ulta if they had the soap and

they did not know what I was talking about. Where would

I be able to purchase the soap? Any ideas?

I like the black soap from Butters-n-bars. See link below. Their black soap bar is brown and soft.

I looked at the Shea Terra website and the bar was

sold out. Would not return until mid January.

I've used both liquids - lemongrass and rosehips - if your skin is dry, get the rosehips.

You will love it!!!!!

I got the most awesome compliment on my skin today!!!!

Hi Heather!

I'm so curious about this soap because it is so different from the the other ones. This one has no additives at all. Someone else here recommended it too. I don't have oily skin - combination skin but break outs mostly on my cheeks - where my skin is dry.

What has been your experience with the one you listed?? I tried the Shea Terra and had a terrible reaction to something in the liquid soap.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Just checked out your blog!! WOW!! Great job!! I bookmarked it! Wink

I use sheaterra black liquid w/rosehips and love it....It exfoliates great.

I ordered right before xmas and got it in about a week...It seems if you live on the west coast it takes longer....The argan/ghassool shampoo and spa body bar is great to.

Hey Char! Thanks for bookmarking my blog.. I am really behind.

The only experience I have had with Coastal Scents was with their glosses, pigments and concealer. I have not tried this soap, but I remember seeing it on their site! Their shipping is fast and if you sign up for the newsletter, you'll be clued into sales! :)

Overstock.com also has african black soap on their site. $1 shipping. I believe it was 8 oz/$20. I have not checked out anywhere else and have never used the soap, just found while surfing.

Hi shdickerson,

If you are interested in purchasing locally, Whole Foods carries both bar and liquid African Black Soap. I think they carry the Nandolia brand. I found Alaffia Liquid Black Soap at my local "Native Sun" Health Food Store...so, if your interested in "instant gratification" as I am, you may want to check some of your local health food stores.

Good luck on your search!

All the best, Neela

Thanks for asking. I placed my order on Saturday. They shipped the following Friday. The package got stuck in the 'regional' post office for couple days before going to my local post office. Luckily, I got it before the Christmas.

Happy New Year to you.

I just checked this out and the description mentions "lathering". I have liquid black soap and it does not lather at all. In fact it says it lathers so much you wont want to get out of the shower..curious.

ETA: just saw it was talking about a "wash" so it must be a blend.
