What's wrong with my Clarisonic?

Started 1290544229.48 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1290646470.907 by Skylands

My Clarisonic is not working. It is giving 5 beeps and the lights are going crazy. I've had it for almost 2 years, but I have not regularly used it the past year. Anybody know what is wrong? Does it just need to be charged for a really long time?

I would charge it until the light goes solid...I own the large one and the MIA...but only using the MIA at the time. Charge it...if that doesn't work then call the manufacturer

I just noticed mine was not as strong as it was at first and then the white part that sits below the brush seemed not pushed all the way down, it came off when i switched brushes. I put it back on and pushed it down all the way and it worked better than ever. I was about to call the manufacturer, because fully charged, it seemd to barely be moving. I was watching it presented one day on air and the guy who always presents it mentioned that the handle unit has a 3 year warranty. So you should be able to get it replaced by them if nothing works to fix the problem. Don't just let it be broken, it's an expensive piece of equipment, they warranty it for a reason, you should be able to use it for years.

This happened to mine after I accidently pushed the on/off button twice. I placed it on the charger for a while and it was fine. I too hadn't been using mine regularly.

call clarisonic, they are a fantastic company, I had bought one of thier tooth brushes, twice, once not long ago and one several years ago, and they replaced both for me, even out of warranty...

great company, im sure they will help you out.

For me it meant the rechargeable battery had died and will not recharge. I think Clari-sonic has a one or two year warranty. Did you send your warranty in?

Yes, I believe I did mail in the warranty card after buying it from QVC. Clarisonic's website says to charge it for 5 hours and if you still have a problem to call them. I'll try that and call tomorrow if it's still not working. Thanks, everyone.

there was a group of these that had some kind of problem. I remember that because I sold mine on ebay and had to provide the serial number and proof it was not part of the bad batch...and that was about two or so years ago I think...

I would def give it a nice long charge and although this sounds silly make sure the plug is all the way in the outlet...I was having trouble with mine once and noticed part of the plug had slipped out of the outlet. I've had mine for about 5 years now but I hope their quality for newer batches is not starting to suffer. I wonder what Clarisonic does for the customer after an expired warranty date? I certainly would miss mine and it's my main method for cleansing daily.

Good luck and let us know what the Clarisonic company ends up doing to help you.

I can answer that. They do absolutely NOTHING for you!
I hadn't used mine in months and when I charged it again, it wouldn't work. Rechargeable battery was dead.

I called them and they said it had been 4 months OVER the 2 years since the registration date, so I was out of luck. They won't do anything after 2 years. :(

I barely used the durn thing and now I'm out a good chunk of money! NOT HAPPY!
If The Shopping Channel in Canada ever puts the Skinn's Skinnsonic on sale, I might buy that just so Clarisonic doesn't ever see another penny from me.

Oh, yeah. They made one suggestion.
Try plugging it into a DIFFERENT outlet than the one you usually use and the slightly different current might be enough to get it to charge properly again.

It didn't work for me, but it might work for you. Good luck!

I charged it for several hours last night and tried it this morning. IT WORKS!! Yay! Guess the battery just got really low from not using it for a long time. Seems to be working ok now.

Good advise Deb777! Call Clarisonic, they're the ones who know, not people who post on QVC.
