Looking for a great "finishing powder" for aging skin?

Started 1287411024.613 in Beauty Banter | Last reply 1287444114.7 by innerbeauty

I'm looking for a great finishing powder or any kind of face powder for aging skin. One that doesn't settle into fine lines and wrinkles or looks cakey.

I have aging sun damaged skin but I still get very oily. Especially after using all my sunscreens, moisturizers and foundations.

TIA

I use Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 powder foundation in light translucent for mine. Even though it's called foundation, it doesn't have much coverage so it's more like a finishing powder.

Do you think it would go well with my Laura Mercier spf20 oil free tinted moisturizer?

I love that the PF Healthy Wear is spf50. If I use that with the Laura Mercier spf20 then I would feel comfortable about omitting my sunscreen.

I like MAC prep + prime Finishing Powder. It is white. It adds no color (I already have color on!) and it is corn starch based so it does not settle. It is $22 for a small jar but it is like magic and lasts me forever! Here is what they say about it:

A silky finishing powder that provides an invisible way to set makeup. Reduces shine while optically minimizing the look of pores, lines, imperfections. Available in one universal colour that suits all shades. Wear over makeup or on bare, moisturized skin.

Hi 4bellarose ....

I like the Oil of Olay Color Recapture SPF tinted moisturizer, and on top of that, to set the tinted moisturizer, a light powder with "color correctors" like "Ready to Wear" "Couture Powder COMPLEXION ENHANCER Compact" (#497-714 SingleShip .. #581-257 -AutoShip) on the southern channel. It reminds me alot of Jerome Alexander's Italian Marble with Color Correctors, which I loved. It gives light coverage, but what is MORE .. it has brighteners and color correctors automatically in the powder, and 'sets" faster than any of the loose minerals.

Philippe also offers a "Ready To Wear " "Couture FINISH POWDER" on the southern channel, which i like slightly less.

Good luck on your search. HTHs

It would probably be ok, sometimes it's all I use other than moisturizer as long as it's not a bright sunny day and I'm not out in the sun the entire time.

You probably know, though, that it's not the sum of the SPF's, you would still have just the spf50 as far as protection goes.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Powder-really works great for me. Does not settle in pores and keeps me matte all day.
