Need a good spray detangler/leave in conditioner for my hair - any suggestions????

Hi everyone: I am growing my hair longer & it gets tangled. I need a good spray leave in conditioner or detangler - can't seem to find anything like this in the store. I have seen detangler that you use on children's hair but would think I would want something with a protectant or helps with fly away hair.

Any suggestions???? Do U think kids stuff would work on 55 year old hair? My hair is in great shape, I do not dye it or color treat it in anyway, I use no flat irons/curiling irons - very seldom use mouse/gel/hairspray.

Thanks in advance

I use the kid's spray-on detangler that I bought for my granddaughter; I think it is Suave or some other cheap brand as she has huge, thick, kinky hair and it takes about 1/4 a bottle each time I wash her hair. Pantene makes a leave-in conditioner that acts like a detangler that is good as well.

Ojon Revitalizing Mist. I love, love, love it!! It detangles and conditions without weighing my hair down. Absolutely will not be without!

Did I say I love it?{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

There's great one sold at drugstores. It doesn't come in a spray bottle anymore which I don't understand, but after all of the high end stuff I've tried, I always come back to this one.

Infusum 23 Leave In Conditioner. It's the best detangler I've used for the price and does not weigh hair down at all. It just detangles and makes hair look healthy. I just transfer it to one of those cheap spray bottles they sell at drugstores to apply it to my hair.

You really have to give it a try. Walgreens I know will take it back used no questions asked if you don't like it but I think you will. That is unless you have really coarse ethic hair. Then it may not be enough for you but it's perfect for all other hair types.

Ojon Revitalizing mist. I even had my 8 yr old neice use it while she was here on vacation and she loved it too.

I use Tonic Lotion from Bumble and bumble (click here for link). It works really well for me, and doesn't weigh my hair down. I have straight, fine, but slightly thick, color-treated hair. The bottle lasts a long time. Bumble and bumble also makes a similar product called Prep (click). I do also use conditioner after shampooing, but Tonic Lotion gets all the tangles out. It can also be used to dampen hair for re-styling.

I'm also growing my hair out. It is very fine but I want long hair for once in my life. I have been using Dr. Denese Hair Moisturizer on the ends. Read the reviews. I LOVE it. I haven't had a hair cut since January and I have no split ends. It is amazing. Good Luck

Johnson's spray detangler found in the baby aisle. Garnier also has one.

My hair is waist length and straight and I've always had a detangling problem so I detangle in the shower while conditioner is in my hair (I love Aussie). After towel drying I use baby detangler and it takes care of removing any remaining tangles. Remember to use a wide tooth comb....never use a brush on wet hair as it will stretch the hair and break it off.

I don't blow dry, use any styling product except a shine gloss on the very ends and have no need for flat ironing or any tools. My hair is completely wash, detangle, natural dry and go.

I LOVE the Nexxus Luxe Humectress spray - I get it at Walgreens, or CVS, etc. It smells like a tropical coconut drink, and it is great for detangling, and calming frizz.

I have used the Ojon Revitalizing Mist too, and it's great as well.

I have waist-length hair also, similar to Bella HS. I have used Suave detangler (think it was for kids, probably bought it for DD) I've also used Aussie, like that one alot. Recently I wanted to try a cone-free detangle/leave-in and didn't have much luck finding one (cheap) so decided to make my own. I have a 2oz spray bottle, filled with slightly less than 1/4 of my favorite conditioner and filled with distilled water. Works great.

The (orange colored) Ojon detanglng spray, just so you know, has a really strong perfumy orangish, odor. So try a small bottle of it at Sephora if you're interested. I could never use it because of the fragrance, it was too much for me.

Also consider the WEN replenishing mist. It makes the hair slick and easy to comb through. (I could suggest WEN which makes hair SUUUUPER crazy easy to comb through!)

Suave Kids Detangling Spray - great apple scent, also tames static/flyaways, green bottle with a purple octopus on the front.

Biolage Daily Leave-In Tonic - nice light scent, w/ natural ingredients and sunscreen, tall white spray bottle.

I have very fine, 47-year-old hair (though a good amount and naturally wavy), but it tangles if you just even look at it, LOL. Both products are highly-rated by drugstore.com - and me! - and you can use either one on dry hair to spot-detangle as well.:)

P.S.: my hair is colored but healthy, always air dried, and no heat appliance has touched it in years.

I used to use WEN as my shampoo and conditioner. I am now using it as my leave in conditioner only. It is a great detangler. I put it on at the end of my shower. I personally perfer the Sweet Almond Mint for that purpose. Love it!

My DD's have thick straight hair that knots and tangles very easily. I have to use a spray on detangler or it's war. I am constantly trying new things for them that both smell good and work well. Of the 100's of products I've tried, these worked the best for us:

1) Sunsilk - Summer Leave In Detangler (smells great and works great) golden yellow bottle;

2) It's A 10 - Miracle Leave In Hair Conditioner;

3) Matrix - Instacure;

4) Ion - Swimmers Leave in Spray Conditioner (Sally Beauty)

I have curly hair that I can only comb in the shower--and even though it's not very thick, BOY does it get tangled! Infusium regular conditioner is the only thing (at least that I own), that really helps get the tangles out. I put a little on the areas that really tangle up, then whatever regular conditioner I use over it...then before I'm ready to rinse, I glob some more on the tangled areas. Then I I also use their leave-in after I get out of the shower.

Thanks for the tips on other products, everybody!

I use Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Detangler Spray. I can sometimes find it at TJ Maxx, or the major drug store chains.

I don't know what type of hair you have but I agree Ojon Mist is wonderful on color treated hair, but I also like using PhytoMist, it will never leave hair oily like other leave-ins. I have to be very careful because my hair will get weighted down in an instance. I've seen the Phyto line in CVS, Sephora, and ULTA.

I like VO-5 Detangle & Shine. Cheap and works great.

I should say first that I am NOT a hair product junkie. I think that makes a difference b/c I really fell in love with a product from the Jonathon line. It's the Leave-In Glossing Cream (leave-in conditioner) and I just LOVE it. I put it in my lightly towel-dried hair and then blow dry/style as normal. Leaves my hair so soft and manageable. And I have a lot of hair. It's longish and thick. And this product really works for me. Unfortunately, this Jonathon line is being phased out. And most of the Jonathon products cannot be found at ULTA anymore. Except they still have this one-so it must be a winner in the line.
