How many pumps of WEN do you REALLY use?

Last week, I received my beauty test tube which contained a bottle of WEN cleansing conditioner. I had never used WEN before. I was always intrigued by it but I refuse to buy any product where you need to use 20-30+ pumps.

I've used it for a few days now and I really like it. But I'm only using 6 or 7 pumps each time. My hair is long but it's quite fine. Do most of you use the recommended number of pumps?

My hair is beneath my shoulders and kind of thick. For my hair length, the bottle says to use 16-20 pumps. I usually do about 12 pumps and feel I get a good cleanaing with that.

I got the TSV in several flavors and I also bought the 4 16 oz bottles. I have been doing a bit of experimenting. I have very thick wavy color treated hair. The fig works best on my hair. Everything else works best on my scalp. So I saturated my scalp and scrub my scalp with whatever i'm going to use that time. Then I put Fig all over the rest. I put enough on where my hair is saturated and when i comb thru it some excess product comes off on the comb. That way i'm not counting constantly. And it's working for me.

I have fine hair, below shoulder length, and I use approx 14 pumps (6oz/16oz bottles) for each cleanse (4 + 4 for scalp, and 3 +3 for balance of hair).

Fine hair, just above chin---four pumps twice=total of 8 pumps!

Guy, short, fine hair. Usually use 8, sometimes split, sometimes not. I've used as little as 6, but not split. I had the occasion recently to dump out the remainder of a bottle and ended up with a huge glob, much more than I normally use. The difference in the feel and shine was amazing. I haven't used that much again. I'm happy with the results I get, but more is better with WEN.

My hair is thick, just above the shoulders, not color treated. I use around 22 pumps (but I think that I only do 'half pumps' because I do them very fast! LOL).....I don't cleanse more than twice a week, usually, though. Perhaps if I used it more often, I'd use less each time.

I have dry hair about 2 inches below my shoulders (thanks Chaz for finally being able to let it grow). I use 8 - 10 pumps from the 32 oz (so 16 - 20 for the smaller size bottle). I usually only cleanse 2 or 3 times a week and will only do the double cleanse if I use oils. I definately use less than when I started but my hair is in much better shape now and doesnt need as much hydration as it did when I started.

Coarse and wavy, color-treated brown (for the gray) with hi and low lights hypothyroid hair. My faves: Fig, BGT. WCM, SMC and 613

I use about 22-25 pumps on the 16oz size. I try to let it raise for full pumps, but I'm sure some of them aren't. 28 is about the most I can even get to stay in my hair or it drips out and stays in my hand.

I am not always consistent some days my hair seems to need more than others.

I have just above bra strap layered texturized hair.

Hi

I've been using wen for over 4 years now. My hair is fine-medium & a few inches below my shoulders. I use between 40-44 pumps (from 6oz/16oz) bottle. I've tried using less but my hair wasn't clean and it was dry w/less pumps. I realize some ladies get by w/less pumps and while it may work for them it doesn't for me.

Not much to be honest! I have the TSV....32oz sz in CA....and I like to wash daily....so I use 2 pumps....that's it! and my hair is fine and naturally curly....I don't use it as a leave in. Also, for my hair I was finding that leaving it on for 3-5mins while I shower is over conditioning my hair...made it where it wouldn't hold a style for me....flat....not dirty just no body or volume....like when you use conditioner and it makes your hair to soft. So I stopped doing that....I wash and massage my scalp for 1min, comb thru then massage and rinse well...until all of it is out of my hair. This works best for me and my fine hair.

I have fine thick hair that is cut in a tapered bob, which is almost chin length at it's longest point and ear length at the shortest. I use 24 pumps from a 16 oz bottle, which leaves my hair clean, soft and full of body. I usually cleanse every 2 days , but can go 3 (which I often do on the weekends.)

I have super thick, coarse Asian hair that's about 5 inches past bra line and I use:

1 - 1 1/2 pumps from the gallon.

30 - 35 pumps from 32oz.

I think the number of pumps he wants us to use is ridiculous. One can spend almost $200 a month going through this stuff. I ordered the sample 5 pack and am sending it back. I have long hair and the first few times I used it, I had A LOT of hair come out. Also I seemed to spend the whole time in the shower pumping. It's a little ridiculous and didn't really notice that much difference from the no sulfate shampoo and conditioner I had already been using.

Shoulder length hair. 20 pumps each time I use it and I do two rounds each time I cleanse.

I have enough hair for 10 people and this is ridiculous. you will find after you use wen you don't need to wash your hair everyday...more like twice a week. and if you look at how much 1 pump is in your hand....it's not that much. i have 2 tsv's and the set of 4 16 oz and i'm not even making a dent. i figure $200 worth would last me a year. i love it and it's worth it. lol

I have chin length super, super thick hair. I use 14 pumps from the 32 oz size.

And no. It doesn't cost $200 a month LOL!

When I get tired of shopping, I sit down and try on shoes~

I just don't understand what I am doing wrong? I watched the videos, read the instructions, use more pumps, used less pumps, timed it, rinsed and rinsed! My hair almost touches my shoulders and is heavy. Just when I think figured it out, then around 6:00 my hair starts feeling dirty! I really want this to work, I want my hair to shine again! This morning I used 10 pumps each section rinsed, and did it again. It is starting to feel dirty??

I came up with this amount because I spent $50 on the five pack and in 7 days almost went through all 5 bottles so 4 weeks x $50 = $200. I really truly wanted to just fall in love with this because of all the people that really do love it. I have long hair and so one round in the shower according to the video is 40 pumps (because he says to repeat the process). Maybe someone can give me some suggestions.

whoa! you shouldn't have gone thru 5 6oz bottles in 7 days...I'm being totally serious. And the 40 pumps should be split into 2 cleansings of 20 pumps for each cleansing...you don't have to do 2 cleansings...I often don't...I just cleanse once w/40 pumps and I only cleanse every 2-3 days. I'm guessing if you cleansed daily and used 40 pumps (twice) then you would go thru it faster. Also the 6oz sizes aren't the best deal on wen....to me it's just a way to try the different flavors. I have 16oz bottles, 32oz bottles and gallon sizes. Why did you cleanse daily? was it to try the different flavors?

I have short, thick hair. After experimentation, I find 6 to 8 pumps from my 16 ounce bottles is more than adequate. Lots of times I get impatient with the pump and decant into a squeeze bottle or a "dump" bottle. Works just as well now that I know how I want my hair to feel.
