Suzanne Somers "Sexy for LIfe" program

Started 1293964472.68 in Among Friends | Last reply 1296156978.763 by Lucky Charm

Has anyone tried this? I used to Somersize years ago, and it did work, but I went of it, and all my weight came back. Food combining was alittle difficult. Now she has this new program, and I was wondering if it's the old program revamped.

Don't waste your money on "diet programs" especially celeb programs. You're just keeping them living the life they're accustomed to.

Eat right & exercise. It's common sense, but people are always looking for a quick fix. They think if you have to pay money, it must be good.

Eat right & exercise. That's the the best "program".

I surely agree with you Hildegarde; if people would just follow your suggestions and really get serious (no quick fixes) they wouldn't need to worry about the new fads as they come out.

When SS reveals the whereabouts of her medical degree with sub-specialties in women's health, psychiatry, and endocrinology, I will buy her books and consider her ideas.

Until then, I get the same info reading here and consider it equally valuable and cost free.Smile

She does know a lot of info, but she is still not a Dr.

She acts like she does at times. I think she does look great for 63.

She does look good for 63. I'm only a few years behind her, and don't look as good (and its not about weight. Some people seem to have good genes which help them look good from the start. I realize she works at it, but let's say she had/has the raw materials to work with.

Still, I do not care much for her personality, (so do not enjoy watching her, now on Shop NBC or when she was on H S N.) I do not hate her, and am not bashing her.

I wish I could get the Face Master. The theory is plausible, and seems to work. That's about all I see myself ever buying from her.

ITA! I try to eat right, can't exercise due to a back condition.

Suzanne shares with others what has worked for her in the medical field; I agree that there are some good alternative health products out there that work; I have had some good experiences myself but would not deny myself medical treatment where necessary.

I have recently heard that it is best to eat protein and carbs together as the protein slows down the disgestive system, preventing it from absorbing the simple carbs so quickly.

Of course, Suzanne doesn't eat simple carbs I understand (but I do).

dmqshopper,

Gotta tell ya: I Somersized too, and loved it because of the amount you could eat and what you could eat was, as you know, almost without any restrictions.

I purchased all the 'diet' books, still have them. Like you, I went off, and regained....

Here is my issue with her: she went too far afield from the original concept of Somersizing, the food products (remember her dictum: if you want dessert eat real dessert) with diarrhea inducing malitol, the suspicious frozen dinners, the constant changing of exercise equipment, leaving her old products in the dust (Torso Track: I have it), poorly made pots and pans, etc. on and on. The meat that was way overpriced....etc.

She went to far diluted her brand, and lost my interest.

I went to the library and borrowed her other 'medical' books....good but I am not going to go crazy over them.

She was on TV yesterday & I have to say that

my 86 year old neighbor look 10 times better

than she does... I was shocked to see her...

what happened to her beautiful face.... She had

such a sweet face...I have not seen her in years

I know she is on HSN..But I do not watch them

much ...About once a month.. I even forgot to

watch when Andrew was on & he is my favorite...

But Susan is not the Susan I remembered...

Some of the things she was talking about I believe you can only find out through visiting a Naturopath ..... i.e. the gluten sensitivity.

I saw her book in Meijers this week. What a photoshopped photo on the cover! Or else it is about 20+ yrs old.....She's a sweet, funny, lovely lady (at least from seeing her on TV, etc.), but when her personal home burned a few yrs ago in Calif. in the wide-spread fires, she was interviewed without soft lighting, etc., and OMG.......she looked like she was 75.

Did she get burnt in her face???....If she did... that

explains the look...Oh I am so sorry for her....

Sexy for Life? I'm about Suzanne Somers' age, and the thought makes me tired.

Her figure is great, but she overdid the work on her face I think - just saw her on TV yesterday. But, she was funny and lovely in her segment anyway.

No. Not just you. Bugs me, too.

I'm thinking that the title is a maketing strategy more than anything else.

It's true that she never claimed to have a medical degree. However, she has said publicly more than once that she knows more than doctors do. One of the things I can't stand about her is that she claims to be an expert on everything. Her ego is out of control. Kiss

She didn't get burned in the fire. She wasn't there at the time. (This was only one of her homes, btw. Not that it isn't horrible, but she wasn't left homeless and didn't lose everything so it wasn't as devastating as it might be for most people.)

I've posted this before, but she does not look good in person, and hasn't for years. The filters and lighting that are used when she's on TV are there for a reason. Kiss
