Hello everyone!

With St. Patrick’s Day just a few days away, the excitement is building at QVC and final preparations are well underway for our St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, which is very near and dear to my heart. Every year, I travel to Ireland to select beautiful Irish products to share with you, our QVC customers, and I am always discovering new, special treasures every time I visit. For instance, while I was visiting my parents in Cratloe, Ireland, I was doing some shopping and came across the beautiful, handmade Ballymorris Pottery and had the privilege of meeting Hannah Arnup. I knew I had to share this product with you. Now Hannah comes to QVC every year bringing more Ballymorris Pottery.

Our Irish vendors love coming to QVC. They especially love interacting with you and hearing about what Irish products you enjoy the most, your ideas, your suggestions, and your personal stories. They take your feedback to heart, and they create many new and special items specifically for QVC customers. That being said, we wanted to provide a platform for you to get to know our Irish vendors and on-air guests better, learn about the products they create, and get an insider’s perspective of the Emerald Isle and Irish culture. We also wanted to create a place for you to share your comments, questions, and stories with our Irish vendors and on-air guests. It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of our Irish Insights blog! This is your opportunity to be connected to the Irish community year-round. Be sure to check here periodically to read blogs from our Irish vendors and on-air guests, watch videos, and participate in polls. As always, your comments are welcomed!

Watch this video to get to know our Irish brands and on-air guests:

Tune in throughout the day on Saturday, March 17th for our 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration featuring Irish imports - apparel, collectibles, jewelry, and home accents - plus Irish guests, entertainment and folklore. Also, world-renowned singing groups Celtic Thunder and Celtic Woman join us live from Studio Park! You invite us to "tune in throughout the day," but aren't there only specific hours that the Irish wares will be featured? I like the questions you're asking, but they should have been given to us months ago--so that the Irish day that so many of us enjoy could have stayed intact.

Insomniac - I completely agree with you. I am just hoping that next year they will be back to 24 hrs of Saint Patricks Day celebrating :)

I completely agree with those who have commented on the whittling down of the 24 hour programming. I love the idea of the blog, but with regular programming being interspersed with the Irish Day programming it won't feel the same and will lack that special day "feel" these days always had. Come on, Q! Give us our 24 hour Irish Event back!!

I was extremely disappointed to see that our glorious 24-hour armchair trip to Ireland has been whittled down to a few measly hours interspersed with more same-old same-old boring programming. There was just something special about tuning in at midnight on the 17th and have the excitement build up the closer we got to the 'top of the morning'. This won't feel the same at all. Please give us back our 24 hour St. Patrick Day celebration. Many of us look forward to it all year.

What an insult to those lovely Irish crafts people and vendors. No TSV, a few scattered hours and many of those in the middle of the night ... and now you give us a "platform to get to know the Irish vendors"??? The same vendors we already know and love; apparently QVC didn't ... what a shame. Less and less here to watch every week.

I must say I am very shocked and disappointed that the St. Patrick's Day celebration has been cut down so significantly. I hated it when Rose of Tralee was pared down, but just could not believe there was not going to be an Irish TSV or 24 hours of programming. This is one day of year that I truely look forward to watching QVC. Even though we will truly never know why this drastic decision was made, I am certain that Jane and all of the Irish vendors will work that much harder to make the time we do get to spend with them very special. QVC really needs some new product lines anway as we get tired with the same old boring things. I am grateful for this blog to be able to keep up with the Irish vendors all year long though.

I loved the old Irish shows with the Pub and that were on for 24 hours with a beautiful Irish product for the TSV.

Now, it seems that they just rush right through it and then it's back to the old boring programs.

At least with the Irish programs, you were temporarily transported to another place with lovely products and people.

I am joining the chorus of expressing my disappointment in the decision of QVC to limit the hours that the wonderful products from Ireland for both the Rose of Tralee and now Saint Patrick's Day are shown live. And no TSV?!!! What are you thinking?!!! I looked forward to both of these Irish celebrations and the entire day of celebration for each of them. I also used to do much of my Christmas shopping with the great variety of unique items showed. I think I bought one sweater as a Christmas gift for last year. I also used to buy at least one piece of Belleek during each of these celebrations. No more. The variety that I was used to just wasn't there.

I hope you are listening to your long-time customers, QVC. We are quickly becoming your former customers because of this and other poor decisions on the part of your current management.

HOW DISAPPOINTING TO LEARN THAT OUR MUCH ANTICIPATED 24 HOUR EVENT HAS BEEN CUT TO A PALTRY 11 HOURS. WHY?? I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE REVENUES WERE DOWN LAST YEAR! PLEASE RETHINK THIS STRATEGY FOR NEXT YEAR. WE ALL SO LOOK FORWARD TO A LOOOOONG LEISURELY UNINTERRUPTED TRIP TO THE EMERALD ISLE. tHIS YEAR ALMOST HALF OF THE PROGRAMMING IS LATE NIGHT OR WEE HOURS ON THE WEST COAST. DEFINITELY NOT THE TRADITIONAL ST. PATRICKS CELEBRATION WE ARE USED IT TO. AND WHAT'S WITH FLAMELESS CANDLES FOR THE TSV ON ST. PADDY'S DAY????

I too agree with everyone else. I looked forward to those two days a year of Irish products. Then Rose of Tralee was cut in half and now St. Patrick's Day. If you can devote the 25th of every month for three months to Christmas gifts, you can do at least one day full of Irish!

I'm still wishing that there would be an announcement that there was a terrible mistake and there IS an Irish TSV on St. Paddy's day, with an apology for this mistake. I love being able to tune in any time and see the wonderful range and scope of Irish products, and the lovely presenters. Next year, please go back to what so many of us love. AND A TSV!!! Slainte.

Another disappointed viewer...I was so excited when I realized that St. Paddy's was on a Saturday (I hate missing so much while I'm at work) only to learn that it won't be a 24 hour celebration! Such a joy to have on in the background while going about my housework, pausing for a cup of tea and a "visit" with the familiar vendors, a rush to the phone for something lovely and unusual...

How sad that there is no 24 hour St. Patrick's Day programming on QVC this year. Each year, I looked forward to the always pleasant Irish vendors, and the shows that featured sets that gave the viewer a hint of being in an Irish pub, or little shops along "main street." It was a pleasure to have that charming type of programming available to tune in to throughout St. Patrick's Day, (and also on Rose of Tralee). I agree with the other posts, that it was a bit of shock to see something other than an Irish product for the TSV on March 17th, and then to see other shows scheduled for that day that offered no Irish theme at all. Disappointing, QVC.

So extremely disappointed that there won't be 24 hours of all things Irish this year. It was always a tradition with myself and my mother to take the day off and watch QVC and instill fear in the heart of my husbands wallet. This year, unfortunately, since there will only be scattered showings, I will try to tune in every once in a while but will most likely miss out on alot. I hope this doesn't become the norm for QVC and this wonderful St. Patricks Day celebration.

I too agree with everyone else. I was very disappointed that QVC limited our wonderful celebration to only a few hours. I always looked forward to St. Patrick's Day and to have the holiday on a Saturday was great. Not even to have an Irish TSV was a shock. QVC listen to your customers and next year go back to the full 24 hour celebration.

I have never posted any comments to QVC before but this time I just felt compelled to do so.

I actually discovered QVC in the late 90's by running across the 24 hour long St. Patrick's Day show. Since then, each year, I look forward to the day, always, always purchase more than one item and enjoy the vendors. I'm very Irish, love the day and have included the QVC day as part of the day's celebration.

The decision to pare down St. Patrick's Day may well be due to lower revenue or the fact that Ireland has had her own share of economic woes over the last couple years, but it certainly was a disappointment to find so few hours for this truly special and magical day. Such unique and different items to hear about and fall in love with. I'm not a huge QVC watcher, but I have always set aside St. Patrick's Day to watch. And if it fell on a weekday, I'd take the day off of work.

So, I join the others who have taken the time to post here and say this year's St. Patrick's Day won't be the same and even with a few shows here and there on the channel, the overall feel won't be the same.

I additionally do not in any way understand in lowering the hours why quite a few of those hours remaining are in the dead of night. Makes absolutely no sense.

Hi fellow St. Patrick's Day lovers. I have never written in either and was shocked when I saw the shearing off of the St. Patrick's Day celebration on QVC. I too watch on this special day and purchase many things for gifts. I enjoy Jane and all the folks from Ireland. It makes me feel my heritage is in my own home all over again. I have also been know to "take the day" if its during the week.

Come on QVC, I love you guys but hey, this isn't right. Programming in the dead of night and a few hours here and there on St. Pat's. Not right.

I, too, am stunned that QVC won't have the full scale 24 hour St. Patrick's Day celebration tomorrow. We aren't big drinkers (even though we're Irish) and the last place we want to be is in a pub on St. Patrick's Day with all the big drinkers and God forbid green beer. So watching the 24 hour programming on QVC was a way for us to celebrate our Irish heritage without all the booze. I am so sad, I can't even tell you. While it's upsetting not having the 24 hour programming, what is even worse is not starting off the day with an Irish show and no Irish product as a TSV. Shame, shame!

Are You Kidding Me??? no 24 hours of our Irish" friends" we enjoy so much? Just terrible!! What programing idiot made that decision? All those as disappointed as I am - boycott! do not purchase things on the other shows.....and support the Irish products. I the Irish have a $great day, in-spite of it all!

I will join all the rest by saying - shame, shame, shame on QVC!!!!!!!!! Not an all day St. Patrick's Day? No TSV that is Irish? Come on!!!!!!!!!! It was bad enough Rose of Tralee was shortened, now St. Patrick's! Gee. Wish HSN or Shop NBC had an all day Irish show. Would just have to tune in to those!! So how about listening to ALL of us and bring back ALL DAY with a TSV next year?!! You could start with Rose of Tralee this year being all day. Thanks!!

I am really disappointed! I look forward to this every year. I can't believe you are only doing 11 hours and no TSV.

Like everyone else, I am very disappointed in the cut back of Irish programs for St Patrick's day. After watching these Irish show since the beginning, I have grasped much knowledge about the products and the vendors----DO NOT NEED A BLOG!!! Q has really missed the mark on this one, and it is an insult to the folks who come from Ireland to present their beautiful products. And why have programs in the middle of the night? Come on Q, get with the program and give the people what they want!!!
