Katie C. brought awareness. I just did it. It's not as scary as you think. Everyone 50 and over needs a colonoscopy! Maybe you think that's TMI (too much information), but just like we get mammograms and physicals each year, we only have to get a colonoscopy about every five to 10 years. It's going to become as routine as the health tests I just mentioned.

The hardest part is the prep the day before, and that was especially hard for me since I chose to have my colonoscopy the day after the Big Game! (I didn't realize that when I made the appointment!) I had BBQ ribs cooking in the Crockpot all day, Mark was making wings, and the kids had friends over. So smelling the food and seeing others eating when all I could do was drink liquids took some major self control! I kept reminding myself that I wasn't gaining the weight that the others were!

It wasn't painful at all, and the nurses were so nice! They encouraged me to write about it in my blog and get the word out because it's one of the most important preventative measures! So if you haven't done it yet and you're at that age where you should, trust me, make an appointment and go get it done!

Speaking of cleaning out, how about cleaning up with a new Dyson upright vacuum on February 19? If you're in need of a new vacuum, check out our TSV that day. It's their newest and latest technology, and it's a whole new design! It has a bigger container for the dirt, and the head floats over the various floor surfaces, so you get the most efficient suction everywhere in your home! There are other new features that I think you'll really like, but make sure you mark your calendars to tune in that day and see what the excitement is all about!

I'll see you every Wednesday morning at 9am, so that's one place you'll know you can find me! Have a terrific week!

Counting our blessings,

—Mary Beth Roe

Mary Beth - thank you for sharing your experience and encouraging people to get

a colonoscopy. Since people were made aware of the importance of a colonoscopy,

colon cancer has been significantly reduced. So if you are 50 or over, do something

good for yourself and schedule an appointment.

Thank you, Thank you for encouraging people to have this done. I did this some years back after being prompted by my Dr. for about 5 years. I was shocked when they found a spot that was cancerous, because there was no cancer on either side of my family. Praise God, because they caught it early enough, it had not spread and they were able to get it all out with no follow up treatments needed. GOD IS SO GOOD{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

PLEASE HAVE THIS PROCEDURE DONE.

I enjoy "My Time with Mary Beth" so much. You are so encouraging and sweet. Continue to let your testimony shine for our Lord and Saviour.

Be Blessed and go out and be a Blessing!!!!

Love you.

Thank you MaryBeth for sharing words of wisdom and encouragement for people to have this important test done. I had to have not just one this year but two! On rare occassions it takes a second round of prep to get sufficient result. The Dr's asked if I wanted a break in between the prep for the 1st and the repeat and I decided since I had already been thru the worst, I would show up again the next day hopeful for a successful procedure. It was, and like you mentioned the nurses and staff were excellent and made it so much easier. Now I'm working on my husband that is 7 years overdue. We have a young lady at work that wasn't so fortunate to catch it early. She's in her late 40's and very vocal to all to be tested.

Being the trusted host you are on QVC, I'm sure you encourged many by the words in your blog. Bless you.

Gayle
