I hope there are some decent 14k pieces, especially some simply styled 14k leverbacks with real gems (no drusy or opaques). Even 14k gem studs would be good. Last edited on 12/29/2011 Peace
springers1325204750.8276317 PostsRegistered 8/27/2008so cal I agree with the need for 14k gold since I can't wear sterling in my ears. I am looking for some white gold to match my sterling necklaces and pendants (Bixby, Pollack and Ripka). As the Q is "largest purveyor of gold" I am hoping to see some gems mixed with gold. eta: I agree about the leverbacks/posts, I won't buy fishhooks/shepard wire/etc. Last edited on 12/29/2011 not my will but Yours be done.

I don't suppose any thought is ever given to putting these events on a Satruday or even on a Sunday, when more of us could participate... Nawwww. I mean after all, what's a Sunday on QVC without being bombarded with yet another electronics snore-fest...? I don't care so much if the gemstones are set in gold -- the star is the gemstone, so I'm glad to see some exotics coming into the lineup, and not the same old semi-precious stones. GinaV241325297021.2233316 PostsRegistered 7/23/2010 Stevie, I totally agree. When I saw it advertised, that was my first thought - gee QVC couldn't schedule this on a weekend! And I also agree - 14k gold with NO drusy! If QVC is supposedly all that much in the gold world, then bring some items that are unique - not dental floss with no value stones. Guess the good news is that it will save me $ when I'm not able to shop while I'm at work! On 12/30/2011 GinaV24 said: Stevie, I totally agree. I know, and given that this week even includes a Monday holiday too, that might have been a nice option. Looking at what's on tap for Monday, there certainly isn't anything that I'd have personally been devastated to see scheduled on another day... But no, the Q's mad programmer has deemed back to work Tuesday as gem day... Fully agree too Calm, on the gold and gemstones. Most gemstones aren't that costly, so there's really no need to inundate us with drusy and quartz... AND yes, it should be possible for the Q to carve out a niche featuring gemstones and gold at affordable prices... Who knows, maybe the profit margin suffers, but I, for one, am just not buying much of what they're offering these days. It isn't that I'm not interested in buying jewelry, but I'm not interested in buying much of the jewelry the Q buyers have CHOSEN to feature... A Monday holiday when I'm home and could really enjoy watching the shows but no, the programming doesn't interest me at all. Guess I'll hit the gym and get started on my own new year's resolution of staying healthy. Calm, I agree with your points as well. It makes no sense to me the choices that the QVC management and buyers have made. If they offered a nice selection, IMO people would buy. Q talks a lot about being able to leverage their purchases, but only it seems when they choose to. Based on a lot of the comments and reviews, it seems that many who used to buy a lot have stopped and it's not just the economy, it's the selection being offered. Somewhere between the $1,000 pieces, there should be a middle ground even with the increase in metal prices. They claim to cut back on jewelry because it isn't moving, but how much of the failure to move is based on the stuff they choose to offer...? It seems to me they just want to limit their options. We see, essentially, plenty of a few brands of computers and electronics, a handful of brands of make-up and beauty products and relatively frequent presentations of two or three brands of handbags and shoes. If they're able to stay afloat this way, then more power to 'em, but shoppers can't buy from them what they don't offer... Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I should have my head examined... GinaV241325430884.5573316 PostsRegistered 7/23/2010 Stevie, you're right, maybe this works for them. I wonder if Jane will read the posts on this blog. I have noticed that some of the hosts have started offering "explanations" about druzy and silicone filled items - I'm sure to better "educate" us or snooker us, depending on how you look at it. LOL I'd rather that we were simply offered the correct information - including gram weights for gold and silver - size of the product, etc. For instance, I like my earrings to be a little wider, so I always look at the dimensions before I buy and I find it frustrating when the product description isn't accurate. And since I'm on a roll about this, that stupid "wrist assist" thing they have to supposedly help figure ouw what size bracelet to wear is sooo useless. If it's not a hinged bangle, give me the diameter so I know if I can get it over my hand or not since that will be the thing I need to figure it out. LOL . Antonella does it, but it's not working with me. I will NEVER be buying silicone or Drusy! Give me some solid gold in new exciting styles on easy pays all the time and I will be buying gold a lot more ! Happy New Year! Wanted to thank you for the Kerry cake recipe. I played with it and added a package of Apple Cinammon oatmeal on the top. Perhaps it will be our New Year's Day cake. I thought my hubby would enjoy it. stevieb1325532841.5518382 PostsRegistered 11/4/2007 I don't mind the silicone filled. I own several rings and haven't had a problem with it, though I wouldn't want it exclusively. Having said that, there'll be no drusy coming to my house... Antonella, bless her heart, or any of the others, can tell me all they want about how the Q offers 'high end' drusy and I simply don't care because I simply don't want it or like it! It's as has been said, bona fide gemstones need not break the bank and I think many of us would prefer to see them. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I should have my head examined... Small amount of gold presence, but that's expected from a high-volume seller. I'm glad I bought mine from the Q in the old days. I did see that listed, too. I am fortunate to have some emerald jewelry that was my Mom's I think I'll stick with that, but at least there's a variety of gemstones being offered, so I'm glad about that. Speaking of silicone....I purchased a 14k turquoise cross from Q a few years ago that is filled with silicone. I wear it a lot and it still looks like new. I agree, I wouldn't want a lot with silicone but a couple of pendants are ok. Peace
