Getting Back to You

Happy hot summer.  I am finally in the office and wanted to respond to all your great comments and questions.  Please continue to write me, I do read everyone.

Bronzo D'Italia

Biancardi and Illioza, the Bronzo line will re-launch as Bronzallure in the August PM Style.  The first styles will be in the August 1 show.

Eterna Gold

Grammachocklit,There is now an EternaGold help line that you can call direct.  Please call 1-800-648-4768 and let them know that David and Peyton asked you to call.  They will be able to help you with earring backs.

Barbara Bixby

Summerof72, Colleen, the buyer that Barbara worked with checked and we can no longer get the Carnelian heart pendant with turquoise flower insert.  She is reaching out to Barbara to work on a similar pendant going forward.  I will pass on your comments about Silver Style.  I love old movies.  Thanks for the comments on artisan crafted, there will be some great new pieces coming up.

Thank you

Ennui, donnaluby I wish you could go with me; there are lots of great jewelry pieces coming from all these countries.   Indy55, I haven’t been to Williamsburg lately but will let you know.  Mother is doing great.  Star826, thank you for the documentary suggestion.  Che, I took a webcam on my last trip and it disappeared while in Switzerland.  When I returned home and unpacked, there it was in the lining of my suitcase.  I haven’t given it back to broadcasting yet so hope to take it on my next trip. Kaplan206, thank you for the kind words and I will be back on air August 2, 3.  Brandy, Jane Treacy and I have been talking about doing a gemstone adventure book together.  Please stay tuned.

Miscellaneous

MMMoj, I have passed your comments along to the buyer about RLM and Michael Dawkins.  I am working a really exciting project with Robert for September and will give you a hint once I can.  BaileyBop, I have passed your request for 16 inch chains on to all the buyers.  It is a terrific idea and we used to do this all the time.  Sugar Bear, I have also sent you requests to all the buyers concerning size 11 rings with natural gemstones. CalminTheHeart, I don’t know the answer but have forwarded your comments on to Customer Service.  Desertrat, It is wonderful to have jewelry that you can enjoy over the years.  Is there a local jewelry stone in your area that you could speak with?  The independently owned stones usually are able to handle personal jewelry better than the chain stores.  EBay is also a good outlet.

Gemstones

Djw4au and JulielovesJR, Sam and Sharon, the owners of the Morefield Mine are terrific people. Such a beautiful stone and wonderful that it comes from Virginia.  I have never been to the Hiddentite mine but plan to go. JLLH358, I am also a rock hound and really appreciate your comments on new stones and finds.  EarthGrl, we really wanted to highlight the beauty of the gorgeous red garnets but also introduce some new types and colors of garnets that many haven’t seen before. Nypro, I have passed your request on to Allison, the gemstone buyer.  Drop earrings in nice size pink stones would be hot. Fluffy2, there are some great new styles being worked on in gold.  You should see more in many of the gemstone and gold shows.  Jaguarette, thank you for the suggestions about gem information. We can add this information to the show blueprint and go over it in the pre-meetings with the show hosts before each show. Grandma C, Allison is working on many new styles with true red garnet and many others of the gemstones that we all love.  Please keep watching.  AnnieDWi, great idea about gemstone programming, I have passed the request on to Allison.  Amber Grace, I hope you have received your OstroBlue Topaz.  It is fabulous!  Thank you for your kind comments, they really mean a lot to me.

Artisan Crafted

CAQGirl, thank you so much for this information.  I had asked several people and heard different pronunciations.  I promise going forward we will pronounce it “Bag ee-yoh”.  We did work directly with the artisans but I do not have a good ear for pronunciations.  Franja, I am so glad that you like the milky aquamarine necklace.  We have not been able to find any more rough stones of this quality but are searching.  If we can find them, we will definitely do a longer necklace.  AECMOM, the Amazonite is from Peru and has that amazing color.  Thank you for your comments, artisan crafted jewelry is my personal passion. Issiestorm, the situation in Egypt is much better now and the artisans we have been working are now able to ship. The head artisan is currently on his honeymoon and will ship the goods  in time for the January artisan crafted event.  Did you have time to check out the items from Bali and Java?

Smithsonian Institution

Stevieb and Rosebud4, there are several more Smithsonian Shows on the schedule for this year.  We will not be mixing fashion and precious in these shows.  We did for the July 4th National Museum of American History show, did you see it?

Take care,

Peyton

Hi Peyton - hope all is well with you and your family.

Will Judith Ripka go back to using real gemstones in her jewelry line? So many of us on the forum are not crazy about all the diamonique and synthetic quartz and such.

Thank you.

Dear Peyton,

You have been a very busy man and unfortunately so have we. I VOW that sooner or later we are going to get together in Williamsburg for a dinner. Unfortunately things have been delayed as usual. My husband had to wait for an appointment with a fantastic surgeon to get a heavy duty aneurysm surgery done. He is now home and well on the road to recovery.

We still have a myriad of small things that need to be done around the house and have been putting them on the back burner. Now I shall tackle them one by one. This should not in any way interfere with our meeting!

I see that you have been swamped with travels and family duties. It's great to see you back.

I know I am a month late in posting these comments, but I hope you will consider them anyway!

I watched part of the June gem day and fell in love with two items: (1) the rose de france butterfly ring and (2) a heart shaped ring filled with heart shaped garnets. I did not order them because they are both so big. I would love to them both done in a smaller scale that would be more wearable on a daily basis!

I would also love to see more chrome diopside! And have you ever heard of /seen "lune de france "amyhest?

Peyton, are you able to work with the QVC buyers for Barbara Bixby jewelry to reorder the Barbara Bixby Sterling/18K Flower Chain (Friends Necklace), J155107? Many of us had this piece on wait list for over 7 months, and recently our orders were cancelled. We are extremely unhappy about this, especially since we had received emails that more stock was expected in July. Upon checking with Bixby Designs, we found out that the necklace had inadvertently not been reordered by QVC. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

thank you payton for the update - just 2 days away! Looking forward to the new styles - I am hoping they still keep that unique chocolate-rose color that the Bronzo line was known for.

hi payton, I did some searching...

I found this site when looking for bronzallure, as the Q hasn't put any items up yet here.

http://www.milor.com/collections/bronzallure.html

a few thoughts

it is a very nice looking collection, however....

that better not be the price point, as one of the reasons why bronzo was always selling out was because of its affordable price

not pleased that they replaced the wonderful color of bronzo and replaced it with some rose gold 18k plating, instead of having that unique dark rose-brown color. That 18k plating is what is also causing the price point to go up

if this is the new line that replaced bronzo, I don't know if I will buy anything - I wanted to get that wonderful topaz stack ring that they used to carry, so I might get that new one, even if it isn't the exact same thing.... It won't match any of my old bronzo pieces with the new colors. And it doesn't have that wonderful rustic feel.

I am not very happy with this "new revamped" look at all. If this is the new line, WHY???? People LOVED the Bronzo color, the price point, those designs.

this just looks like another gold clad line, of which I am not interested in at all. Not one bit.

really a HORRIBLE decision on the Q's part - they not only got rid of a popular line, but then state that they are reintroducing it. NO, you aren't.

you totally changed it. it is different - it won't match the original bronzo line.

Hi Peyton -

Thank you for the information on Egypt. I will be looking forward to the January show. And yes, I have checked out the items from Bali and Java. One particular pair of earrings is currently on my wish list (the teardrop earrings with scrollwork) and I have in the past bought various items from there. And having roots in both islands (my parents were born on Java and one of my grandmothers was a native of Bali) the jewelry that's crafted there has special meaning for me. I love the scenes and vistas in the filmed clips of those islands (the rice paddies, the pasars, the temples, the landscapes) whenever the artisan crafted shows come on. However, I'm very excited about the prospect of Egypt being included in your artisan crafted line. For whatever reason (maybe a past life?) that is my favorite type of jewelry.

Hi again Peyton - I'm watching your Silver Marketplace and I was thrilled to see that the beautiful telkari evil eye pendant was so drastically reduced from its regular price, and with no shipping and handling. I've been collecting evil eyes ever since I went to Greece years ago and bought my first evil eye charm, bordered in gold in the Greek key design. I've been hooked on them ever since. Thanks so much for making this beautiful piece available.

Hi Peyton,

I was hoping that I might see Gustavo's wide collar on the Artisan Crafted show this week, but then saw that you said it would be in the fall show. Can you give me a hint as to what it will look like? I can't wait to see it!

Thanks again for the Mexican silver line, I love it.

Hello Peyton!

I am so happy to find your blog. My name is Angela and I am a stay at home Mom with 2 kids and have been working on a Motivational Bracelet for the past 4 years. As all Mom's know we tend to end up on the back burner a lot, so I've designed a bracelet to help keep us focused on our needs in blocks of 21 days. I have received the final prototype and would love to show it to you Peyton! I think you would be really interested in it! I'm not sure if you automatically recieve my email but it is: actreel@hotmail.com

Dear Mr. Peyton,

I'll be taking my 1st cruise to the Panama Canal in October. I'm so excited!!! Although I KNOW that I can get better deals on QVC, the 'girl' in me will probably NEED to purchase something from one or more of the ports: Aruba, Cartegna, (Still looking for a wheelchair accessible tour there, so I might not be getting off the ship.) Puerto Limon, possibly Caymen Is..(Again, depending on the weather, might not be allowed to be lifted into the tender.) Darn!

Do you have any suggestions or advice? I would love to know what is best to look for in that region and what I should expect in the cost factor? Actually, any advice will be helpful. Thank you.

Marsha

Hiya Mr. Peyton! Because of my ongoing "buycott" at the Q, primarily because of the inane QVC policy of distribution of Easy Pay On Demand to only a few customers and not to everyone, I have not been watching shows on TV nor perusing dot com as I had previously. However, I am still devoted to Miss Judy and her creations and allow a crack in my "buycott" to watch her shows and still purchase from her line. I was very, very fortunate to get tickets to her first studio audience show on 8/21. In the ying/yang of the way the world works, I shall be unable to attend because of the joyous celebration of my grand daughter's baptism. I can't think of many things which would prevent me from seeing Miss Judy, but my grand daughter is most definitely top on my list. I know I have lobbied you very hard over the past months to bring to reality Miss Judy and the live studio audience. I sincerely thank you for all the effort you put forth in making this happen. I know all the Ripkanistas who attend will have a fabulous time. I hope Miss Judy has such a great time with the studio audience that it will become a regular event and I will be able to attend in the future. I hope your mother's health is continuing to improve and that the good health extends to all of your family as well. Again, many thanks for everything you do as the Riokanistas' very good friend. We so appreciate it. Respectfully, Sharon Kaplan/kaplan206

Hi Peyton,

I am not much of a blog person and I am not sure I am doing this correctly but I wanted to tell you that I have been looking for over a year now for a pretty Morganite ring. It is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I know that the mines are sort of bare I believe. But, do you think there is a possibility that some Morganite rings may turn up in the future?

Thanks
