Hello, foodies...
It's time to talk about romance as we all look forward to Valentine’s Day on February 14th! When I was a little boy, I always loved writing out all my valentines and giving them to my classmates at school. There are so many traditional things we do for this special day like sending valentine cards, buying heart-shaped candy boxes, and sending red, long-stemmed roses. This week's In the Kitchen with David will celebrate Valentine's Day and give you all some good ideas for the sweetheart in your life.
"David's Recipe" this week is especially designed to fit our theme of Valentine's treats! We're making my Chocolate Cherry Valentine's Heart Bars. This is an easy and delicious treat perfect for kids and adults alike. We'll prepare the bars in the Temp-tations Old World 16-piece Oven-to-Table Set (K27938). I love the chocolate-cherry combo and the heart shapes are so romantic. Be sure to look for the recipe on QVC.com.
"Cookbook Corner" this week will see the return of a title that has already sold over 30,000 copies on QVC! The America's Test Kitchen Slow Cooker Revolution cookbook (F09340) features over 200 recipes uniquely designed for your slow cooker. Wait until you try the Nutella Bread Pudding, Macaroni and Cheese, and the Loaded Baked Potato Soup. You'll find beautiful color photos and great tips for getting great results. I love this book and can't wait for you to see it on Sunday!
"Food for Thought" this week has to do with traditional foods made for Valentine's Day! Historically, chocolates and champagne have been the popular treat to share with your sweetheart. Over the last several years, red velvet cake of any variety has become increasingly popular. I love red velvet cupcakes and I think they are the perfect way to practice portion control while romancing your special someone. Frankly, any food can be the right choice when shared with the right person!
So, here is your blog question. What special food treat are you planning to prepare for your Valentine this year? Will you make a romantic dinner? Will you make a wonderful dessert? Share your thoughts here in a reply and let's all get ready for an unforgettable Valentine's Day!
Keep it flavorful!

Love your shows - don't always get a chance to watch them live but I always DVR them and watch them when I can. Its almost like a TV show to me - I love sitting down and watching you on the Q. :) I think Valentines day is so special - not just if you have a loved one. I am going to dinner with my husband on Tuesday - the day after V day cuz we don't have a sitter on Valentines night. But, it will be special regardless. I will have chocolate shaped like hearts outside the kids doors so when they wake up they see something special. We will most likely have pot roast in the slow cooker on Valentines night and some cheesecake (cherry for me) for dessert. And let's face it....a few glasses of wine too! Thanks for all you do David to bring a smile to peoples faces. You are a gem! coopbowl1297461187.77720 PostsRegistered 1/15/2011 steak, twice baked potatoes.homemade mac and cheese, husbands favorite lazy dazy cake his grandma used to make when he was growing up on the farm ga gal 671297461581.28716 PostsRegistered 9/10/2010 David, I'm grilling steaks, baked potato and salad with garlic bread. iced heart shaped sugar cookies for dessert. happy valentines day! goocharoo1297463467.95294 PostsRegistered 8/13/2006illinois Hi, Mr.V!
