What is meant by a bowl-lift stand mixer?

KitchenAid Bowl-Lift stand mixers are designed with a lever that raises the mixing bowl into position for efficient mixing and lowers it with an easy turn of the lever.  Heavy metal arms securely embrace the mixing bowl.  The Bowl-Lift design provides sturdy bowl support for stability when mixing heavy ingredients or large batches.

Is the Glass Bowl on the Pro 600 Design Series stand mixer microwave, freezer & dishwasher safe?

The Glass Bowl is freezer and dishwasher safe.  However, it is not microwave safe.

Why is the Spiral Dough Hook so special?

The PowerKnead™ Spiral Dough Hook has been designed to punch and roll dough like a pro.  The unique spiral design of this dough hook replicates hand-kneading with a powerful force. 

I notice the flat beater & dough hook are coated. 

Yes, the coating is a food grade nylon coating that is dishwasher safe and makes cleanup a breeze.

What is the KitchenAid Flex Edge Beater and what does it do?

The Flex Edge beater is a coated metal beater with a flexible edge.  It provides thorough and fast ingredient incorporation.  It is perfect for those recipes that require you to “stop and scrape the mixing bowl”.  The flex edge does the best job on foods that tend to stick and/or collect to the sides of the mixing bowl, like cream cheese, butter, nut butters and honey. Use the flex edge for end products that would be described as "creamy" and "silky". It also makes an excellent tool to wipe the bowl clean when pouring finished batters. 

Can I use the Pro 600 Design Series Glass Bowl and Accessories on other KitchenAid 6-Quart mixers?

No. The Pro 600 Design Series Glass Bowl and Accessories (flat beater, spiral dough hook, pro whisk and flex edge beater) have been redesigned to work exclusively with the Pro 600 Design Series Stand Mixer.

Can you use the various stand mixer attachments such as the food grinder, ice cream maker, pasta rollers, etc. on the Pro 600 stand mixer?

Yes.  All KitchenAid stand mixer attachments are universal and fit any KitchenAid stand mixer. All   feature a multipurpose attachment hub that powers the attachments. Using attachments expands the capabilities of your stand mixer. Simply flip-up the hub cover, insert an attachment, and convert the stand mixer into a meat and cheese grinder, a fruit and vegetable slicer, shredder, strainer or juicer, a pasta sheet roller, cutter, or shaper, a sausage stuffer and more. You can even enjoy delicious homemade ice cream and sorbets with the ice cream maker attachment. While not powered through the hub, this attachment comes with an adapter that enables it to be used on all KitchenAid stand mixers. Attachments come with a Use & Care guide.

Does the Pro 600 Design Series stand mixer come with instructions?

Yes, a Use and Care Guide is included.  The guide includes instructions for the stand mixer as well as recipes.
