With Mother’s Day on this month’s calendar, it’s always good to look at mom and all of the things she has done for us over the years. For me, I think of my mom cooking a great meal, putting the Band-Aid on a scraped up knee, or reminding me that brown shoes equals a brown belt. Thank you mom. However, my mom and tech….. not so much. While the other mother in my life (my wife) is surrounded by technology with a smartphone, laptop, iPad® mini, and DVRing every singing show on the planet, my mom has been the opposite. She was the last one I know to get cell phone. She never knew how to program the VCR, let alone streaming content from the web, and you can forget about Facebook. For her Face and Book meant she was reading. Oh, but things have changed.

Today my mom is on her second reader and the proud owner of an iPad® 2. The transformation has been fun and funny to watch. When I ask my mom, "Why is she diving into the world of tech?", she says "Because it’s so easy!" My mom’s iPad 2 is her connection to it all, and whenever we talk, she is often sharing the latest way she is using this device. That’s the brilliance of this technology. It really is made for everyone. I have yet to meet someone who picks up an iPad® and says “No, this isn’t for me.” I’m sure that person exists, but I think I’d have better luck finding the monster in Loch Ness.

On Tuesday, I’ll be firing up the coffee and presenting an iPad® 2 at the Q. This bundle includes one of my favorites accessories, a Bluetooth keyboard. This is one of the most popular add-ons for the iPad because it gives the look and feel of a laptop for those who want to type with this awesome tablet.
