It's Halloween!

by on ‎10-29-2013 11:21 AM

The leaves have littered the ground in reds, oranges, yellows and browns. The wind is crisp and we're wearing long sleeves, pants and jackets. Front lawns are draped in webbings, ghosts and scarecrows, witches, zombies and goblins. It's Halloween!

My favorite part of Halloween was watching the excitement of my children and the joy on their faces as they got ready to go out trick-or-treating. It was a time for us to be creative as a family. The kids had so much fun creating costumes, putting on make-up and masks. I loved helping them create their vision and we have made so many fond memories of those days!

 Love this nose!

Living in a neighborhood with lots of young families, the streets were crowded with children. They all had so much fun seeing their friends and going from door to door asking for candy.

Michael when he was young!  Look how big that pumpkin looks… Do kids still use those?

I'll never forget the kids excitement, coming home and gathering around our kitchen table with loads of candy. They would trade and bargain with each other over their favorite pieces. David's favorite was always Peanut Butter Cups, Michael's favorite was Snickers and Jaclyn's was Milky Way.

David always had the most extravagant costumes!

At the end of the night, we were all exhausted and the kids were excited for tomorrow and a kitchen full of candy! Halloween is a great time to be with family and friends, to laugh and be creative! It also signals the coming of the holiday season! Next up… Turkey Day!

Watch for surprise appearance from my newest addition, Pebbles… in costume, Thursday 9am ET! How do you celebrate Halloween?! And don't forget to catch me in AM Style Saturday 8am ET! Smiley Happy
