Week 3 of the NFL

Big questions linger about the status of Tony Romo and Michael Vick as we head into Week 3 of the NFL season. Romo actually broke a rib in the Cowboys game against the San Francisco 49ers, but came back to lead his team to an important win in overtime. It was a very gutsy performance. Vick, on the other hand, suffered a pretty serious concussion when he collided with a teammate late in the Eagles battle against the Atlanta Falcons.

Both quarterbacks showed up for practice this past Thursday, but neither actually practiced. There's no doubt that both teams will be hampered by going with their backup quarterbacks. Jon Kitna came in for Romo and played fairly well. He's a seasoned veteran who, last year, had a 4-5 record while filling in for an injured Romo. Philadelphia had to go with their third-string quarterback, mighty Mike Kafka. I thought he did an admirable job. Vince Young, who's number two on the Eagles' depth chart at quarterback, finally seems to be healthy after suffering a pulled hamstring in August.

So the question becomes who will hurt the most this week without their starting quarterback? The Eagles have a big NFC East rivalry game against the New York Giants, and the Cowboys play the NFC East Washington Redskins. I think the Eagles will hurt the most without the scrambling abilities of Michael Vick.

Tune in for the all-new NFL Shop at 6 p.m. ET this Monday, September 26 for another stellar product lineup. One of the big stars of the show will be an NFL Proline team logo Sherpa fleece in team colors with a very special offer from QVC. I hope you’ll join me then!!!
