I’M MORE THAN READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL

The first NFL pre-season game for the 2011 season is scheduled for August 7.  If the NFL Players’ Union and the NFL owners do not hammer out a deal this week then the first week of pre-season probably will be canceled.  In my opinion,  this crazy lock-out has gone on way too long.  It is the first work stoppage since 1987.  If the first week of pre-season is canceled it will cost the NFL a total of $250 million in revenues.  Because of that I’m betting this is the week that a tentative agreement in principle is FINALLY put in place.  If that happens, we, the NFL fans, the people who count the most in all of this, can look forward to the 2011 season.

I love football.  I always get excited about this time of year when I think of the players heading to camp and getting ready.  But I am seriously done with these work stoppages in professional sports.  Situations like this make the fans feel powerless.  That’s not right.

I get especially  excited about the NFL Shop on QVC starting up in the fall. Our first show is a two-hour special which airs from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, September 12.  Our buyers have been working hard to bring you more variety, more sizes and more exciting products than ever before.  Look for officially licensed t-shirts, hats, jerseys, jackets and more every Monday at 6pm ET throughout the fall.   QVC brings you the best of the best because we are the official TV Retailer of the NFL.  I have seen some prototypes of some of the 2011 team merchandise and our lineup will make you forget about all of these legal negotiations and get you ready to stand up and cheer for your team once again!

Look for my blogs in the next few weeks and I will give more details about what you can expect in the NFL Shop this year.  Are you ready for some football?  Me too!!!
